Joe Strummer of the Clash died,I was a big clash fan in the 70s and
80s.To me they were the best punk band ever because they went beyond
punk into other genres while still keeping that punk attitude. Some
people are sad that there wont be some sort of reunion,I feel quite
the opposite I thought it was really cool that they didnt reunite and
try to squeeze every last dollar out of their name. They did lend some
of their tunes out for commercials but only after 20 years which
didnt bother me.He will be missed.

I have one problem with the BBC article is that they list the Clash and the Sex pistols as the figureheads of punk without mentioning that it was the Ramones that invented punk in the first place.
