Can someone please tell me how Layden is touted by many GM's let alone received an NBA job?

It all began in late June. Sensing the Bucks had to break up the Big Three -- which was George Karl's last chance at self-preservation and sanity -- Knicks GM Scott Layden called Bucks counterpart Ernie Grunfeld and suggested a Sprewell-Glenn Robinson exchange. Grunfeld, recognizing that such a deal would make his team smaller -- not to mention undermine his best player, Ray Allen -- immediately said no. Then, typically, he remained silent as the Knicks spread rumors that they were the ones who turned down Grunfeld's offer of Big Dog for Spree.

Indeed, just the opposite was true.

Shortly thereafter, Layden tried again. This time, he offered Sprewell, Othella Harrington and Charlie Ward for Tim Thomas, Joel Pryzbilla, and (no kidding) Allen. And Grunfeld, already chapped at the way the last conversation with Layden went, "hung up the phone after a nanosecond of consideration," according to an Eastern Conference executive who was familiar with the conversation.

I guess NY Fans aren't the only ones that think other teams exist in the league only to help out NY....we need a GM with an IQ higher than a Rock soon, having the rights to a lottery pick during an offseason with so many FA's scares me.

LMAO.
You got to be kidding me. This reminds me of what I see on my job. Incompetent people in top positions who have no buisness there. I have the same fear as you as far as trading our pick, which I think will happen if we fall out off the top 3.

I have a feeling that we'll be lucky enough to get a top 2 pick, draft either Lebron, Darko, or Anthony.....then wait....and trade his rights, KT, Ward, and Knight for GP and his new contract :(

He's touted by so many GMs because they want him to keep his job so they can keep abusing him.

It's not like the Knicks have anything others may want...
