Syracuse and Oklahoma St.

Get your birdseye view of a future Stud in freshman Paul harris of Syracuse.

Briggs I know you will be watching.

Freshman guard Obi Muonelo is averaging 12.3 points off the bench and is the first Cowboy ever to score in double figures in his first nine games.

The Orange also have a freshman playing well in Paul Harris, the preseason Big East newcomer of the year who is averaging 12.5 points.

"I'm going to treat it as a regular game, regardless of where it is, the Carrier Dome or the Garden," Harris said. "As a team, we have to be ready to go."

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

No, I just grew up in the same hometown as Paul and watched him grow up to be an oustanding young man and basketball player.

The kid is a natural leader even on this level as a freshman.

There are two impressive lottery pick guards that play for Arizona in the 2nd game--Marcus Williams and Chase Budinger--both are very athletic long with special skills if you are looking for top line pro prospects. Paul Harris is a kid who will need signficant development time because he's barely 6-4 and has F skills

So why didn't you make a thread about them. LOL

Harris is a freshman learning the rigors of the college level, check him out in january because he never said he was going pro after this season.

He knows he has to work on his game but evrything else you would want in a ball player especially defense he brings it.

The game was pretty good, but syracuse truly needs a pg.

Why didn't Boeheim come out the zone earlier, Paul would have won the game for the cuse. Zone defense allowed OKLA ST get too many uncontested put backs.
Cuse started a great rally in man to man pressure and when they got back in the game and coach Boehiem went back to the zone, why? With under 1 min. left, they let 30 seconds run off just standing around in the zone.

2nd leading scorer Devendorf didn't play for syracuse because of sickness but , they need someone to set everything up and run tempo.

Speaking of pg, next yr Johnny flynn(Harris's statehighschool championship running mate in highschool) will be at the cuse to take run the point.

Only good things to come to paul, he definetly will work on his jump shot the boy's work ethic is excellent.

From Rivals.com 2007 recruiting class

The Big East checks in as the fourth best conference in our early signing period rankings, taking a step back for the always strong conference. The conference as a whole has slipped, but a handful of schools are still getting it done on a national level.
Syracuse, DePaul and Georgetown all landed national top 25 classes after the early signing period. Villanova and Pittsburgh came close to cracking the rankings.

Big East rank
1. Syracuse
2. DePaul
3. Georgetown
4. Villanova
5. Pitt
6. St. John's
7. Louisville
8. Marquette
9. Rutgers
10. Notre Dame
11. Cincinnati
12. Seton Hall
13. West Virginia
14. South Florida
T15. Providence
T15. UConn

Jim Boeheim has been recruiting long enough to know what works for him much earlier in the process than his peers. That is why he and his staff locked up their top-five class a year before anyone else. The conference's most versatile recruit Donte Green, should be an offensive star in the Orange's system. Johnny Flynn gives the team a speedy and athletic option at the point guard position. Most of all, Flynn knows how to make Paul Harris even better than he already is.

I'll back up the Budinger pick. Most people know Arizona is a top quality program, great pro prospects come out of there. Great coaching. Get this, Budinger is a freshman, starting and leading the team in scoring and up there in many areas. This is Arizona, that doesn't happen but every 10 years or so! They got something special on their hands. Marcus Williams is not putting up stats (Assists) like a point guard, so not sure about him in that respect...

He looks like a player who would fit in with Pheonix real well. If you have seen this guy play in other games, he is very athletic BUT like most white players, he has trouble with lateral quickness. Look how athletic David Lee is--both of these guys won dunk championships yet they cant move well laterally on the D--so they must lern to compensate for that weakness.
The foreign C for AZ has improved greatly Y-Y. I don't think he was even a blip to the NBA prior to this year--now he looks like a high 2nd low 1. In most cass I think it pays to play atleast 3 years.

Paul Harris is not a very skille dplayer has an awkward jumpshot and relies on strength alot. Hes a good athlete, and he plays with fire, he reminds of Ron artest in terms of his heart and strength, also in terms of his lack of fundamental skills. At his size, he's gonna have to revamp his game or grow.

BTW, I was at the game last night (i'll post pics)and I've seen him play alot. In high school he was like a man amongst boys, his body was very developed. He has something, but he's not a player I have my eyes on if I'm drafting, and he'll definitely have to stay in school because hes not ready.

If you understood my intial comments I called him a future stud !

Never did I say (he's a can't miss lottery next yr)

Briggs and yourself seem to bring out all aspects of his game he has to work on. And turn your reports into a negative.

You give eddy curry 6 yrs in the NBA before he shows up and you slam this kid in his 1st yr in college.

This kids work ethic is top notch and he isn't throwed off like ron artest.

Haterz love to hate

Are you talking about the Marcus Williams from ARIZONA Wildcats? I ask because you keep referring him as a Point Guard. He doesn't the PG position for Arizona...has a matter of fact...I don't think I've seen him play the 2 guard position either. He is a FORWARD

Paul Harris has some skills but he's not a lottery pick.
"Anyone who sits around waiting to hit the lottery, whether basketball or real life, in order to better their position is a loser."
