I cant wait to hear some of these remarks but I would say without a doubt--Howard,Ming. (Okafor is really a PF). Probably--Okur. Maybe/Maybe Not--J O'Neal(28yrs old), Dalembert,Bynum ,Bogut,Kristic,Kamen.

So IMO only 2 definites and 1 likely. Not saying Curry is great yet but as far as a young power center he is making considerable strides. As he keeps playing more minutes his stamina will increase and really we need his rebounding to improve. Again he just turned 24 yrs old.!!
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

isnt the real question which one of the players you listed would you give up the #2 pick, and any lottery protection this year for?

You didnt list LaMarcus Aldridge. I would rather him and whoever I can draft with my lottery pick this year than Eddy Curry.

Maybe Eddy really develops into a bigtime center. Thats totally possible. But we are talking about a guy with a weight problem who has never been in shape. The one year he showed up ready to play was a contract year and he couldnt finish the season because he either has a heart issue, or took so many diet pills it gave him a heart issue. Not the kind of player I want to mortage my future on, which is what we did.

I hope Eddy turns out great. So far we have seen pretty much what Chi saw. 6 years in the league and he's still fat, doesnt rebound and doesnt defend. Making the focul point of the offense is a good thing because thats the one positive he brings. If your not getting offense from him he's a waste of space.

I'd definitely rather have Howard, Ming, Okafor (I do consider him a center) and Bynum. Ming's already a great player, Howard's close and Bynum is on his way.

I'm pleased with the way Eddy's been playing lately. I think he's in better shape than last season because he's playing more minutes and not tiring out in the second half. He can dominate weak centers which is important. He's had some good rebounding games lately - including last night's 15 boards.

Howard and MIng. I'd say OK4, but hes a bit undersized for a center and his game is highly athleticism dependant, which imo, is not a good thing (See Amare). Years pass and athleticism fades, but skills and fundamentals get sharper, and howard's body is crazy and Yao is 7'6".

Outside of those guys, I'll take my chances with EC.

Now we need the momentum on one side of the ball to carry over to the other.

We already have a better Larmcus Aldridge. His name is Channing Frye. If you want a 230 pound jump shooter who will get to the line 1 time every 20 minutes then tell Frye to lose weight.

I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

If it turns out we gave up the #2 pick last year and switching the #15 pick for the #18 pick this year then it was a good trade. Also lets give Curry so credit for major development so far this year. If he can keep developing at this rate who knows how good he can be. Lets be happy about something for a change.

I'd take jackie butler cheaper than his san antonio deal and lotto pick last year and this.

cap flexibility. youth. serious shot at oden? this year or next.

curry helps us just enough to prevent us from landing franchise talent in the draft.

Jackie Butler had nothing to do with the Curry trade anyway. Isiah just didnt think he was worth like 2.3 mill a year. He later signed Jeffries.

I'd rather have Jackie at $1.5mm, 35% body fat, and my pick from this year and my pick from last year instead of Curry & $56mm.

Because this year's pick could be Oden.

Nuff said.

pick 15 for 18??? Chi is at 17. WE are at pick #3. Check the standings. As for the Aldridge/Frye comparison I would rather have both then Eddie Curry. I dont see the relevance. Unless we havent met our fat guy quota.

I think you are getting away from the question--who( 1 player) would you rather have as your center for the next 7 yrs over Curry? which player would you trade Curry for in a 1-1 trade to play center instead of Curry?

This will make the list a bit shorter to remove the old and damaged dudes:

Nenad Krstic
Samuel Dalembert
Jorge Garbajosa
Chris Bosh (PF but I wull take him over Curry)
Ben Wallace
Andrew Bogut
Rasheed Wallace
Jermaine O'Neal
Emeka Okafor
