I'm probably going to answer my own question but just hear (read) me out.

Maybe it's me, but the fire and spark just isn't there like it was in November. Is it b/c he's in a slump right now or he's not happy with his minutes or Zeke blasted him hard for that showboat dunk? And you know when Jeffries gets back, Nate's playing time is likely going to be in serious jeopardy.

I'm not sure why the guy's been basically invisible for the last several games.

He started out the season playing way over his head. He was not going to be able to maintain that level over the course of a full season. He's just in a little slump. He's tough and will come back nicely.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

he's a sophomore making some mistakes. a few poor decisions on offense the last few games, and a bunch of quick fouls away from the basket last night. i hope he shows the desire to play through it and make the most of his time.

I think Nate has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way with his antics on the floor. Notice the fouls he has been getting lately. I am too lazy to look it up but I bet he has had a lot of fouls called on him. Officials wont let young players act like he does. Nate plays no defense, and has dumb some really dumb things on the basketball floor lately

That's one theory. Personally, I think it's all the booing.

the no defense aspect is my biggest complaint. when we got nate i was excited for two reasons:

a) I always considered Marbury's energy and demeanor too low, and nate is anything but that. I'm willing to forgive his mistakes for the general lift he brings to the game.

b) We so desperately need a guard who can press and hound the opponent ball-handler all the way from the backcourt. I thought Nate would be perfect in that role and I'm borderline "shocked" that we don't see him utilized in that way more often.

i don't dislike nate but he's not a smart player. the one way he could really up his worth would be to become a major pest on the defensive end and yet that we don't see.

Ever since the 0 point, 2 shot, 27 minute night his minutes have been drastically reduced. Up until that point he was averaging 23 minutes per game. Since then about 15. In the last 5 games he's averaged 13.6. We learned last year that players can't perform and must quit when they don't have a set role(sarcasm intended).

In reality his minutes are reduced because you simply can't get that many minutes for all these guys. The better Steve and Steph and Jamal and Q play the less minutes there are to go around. If Steph ever gets it going you may not see the guy get off the bench. When Jeffries comes back someone will be reduced to a towel boy. That's just the breaks. There aren't enough minutes for four guys who all do the exact same thing. And in reduced minutes you will have reduced numbers. Hopefully we won't have reduced effort. I haven't really seen that from Nate. I think he's still playing hard just not taking as many shots.
I just hope that people will like me

and I can't believe why some have complained that Frye and Lee didn't get MORE playing time with Butler, MoT, AD, Jalen, Woods on the team last year.

Really, I think Nate is trying to focus more on being a PG rather than being a scorer with IT's shift to involve Curry more. I just think nate is having the same problem Marbury had in adjusting from being a Vinny Johnson off the bench to being a ball distributor.
Trust the Process

true, true, but I think it's a good thing. It took Deron out in Utah a whole year off the bench to learn his position and he was a PG in college, right?

Nate will learn in time.
