I think this discussion worth a separate thread
The only time we won from the team with the star was cavs and lebron was off.
We have defensive deficiencies and when the opposing team star player is required double teams and help we broke completely.
If It will not address this we are not going to win from any team with a star power... And this means not to much games overal...

We beat Miami with Wade and Washington with Arenas. Also Boston with Pierce. A superstar would help in the last 5 minutes. It looks like Isiah is trying to see if Curry can be our late game go to guy
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

If Curry can make his free throws, he is definitely the go-to guy for this team. He is shooting at nearly 60% from the field and seems unstoppable when put in the right position. We can beat any team if we execute in the 4th quarter. Our problem has been that we make too many mistakes in the 4th quarter. You don't need a superstar player, you just need a clear idea of what you are trying to do at the end of the games and not turn the ball over.

Curry and Jamal need to develop a mean 2-man game.. I feel like Jamal is being under-utilized at this point

We don't need a superstar so much as we need players that have good recognition of the situation. Zeke's coaching factors in this too as his 4th quarter decisions have been really suspect this season.

i agree that it is all about execution. we have beaten decent teams but lost because we are coming back from a huge defecit or poor decisions. we have been beaten twice by chicago and they arguably have no superstar to speak of. they just executed better.

i think Q Rich's defense deserves a big part of the credit why superstar players like Lebron & Paul Pierce have been "off" during games we played them this year.

So that didnt count? The post was can we beat a team whos star player had a good game and the fact that we put ourselves in position to win the game on a "fluke" play speaks about this team.

how about this: One fluke play does not make an arguement. If we beat many teams when their franchise players was one, then I would agree with you. But that hasn't happened.

I was not talking about having the star but about defending the stars of othe teams.
Here we go:
1. Griz - No stars (Gasol out) - win
2. Atlanta - J.Johnson 30 - (Not a star) but great performance - loss
3. Indiana - A.Harrington 32 - (Not a star) but great performance - loss
4. Spurs - T.Parker (24 + 10 ast) - (kind of a star) but great performance - loss
5. Nuggets - C.Anthony (37 + 8 rb) - Star - win with 2 poits
6. Huston - M.Yao (35 + 17 rb) - Star - loss
7. Spurs T. Duncan (24 + 16 rb) - Star - loss
8. Cavs - LeBron (29 + 6 + 4 ) - Star - loss
9. Wizards Arenas (22 - 5 of 19) - Good player Off night - win
10. Miamy - Wade (20 8 of 18) - no Shaq amd bad night for Wade - win
11. Boston - Pierce (39 + 9) - star - loss
12. Rockets - Yao (26 + 9) + McGrady 24 - 2 stars - loss
13. Mini - Garnet (19 + 9 playing only in first half) - Star - blowout
14. Boston - Pierce off night - win
15. Chicago - L.Deng (24 + 9) - (Not a star) but great performance - loss
16. Chicago - B.Gordon (24) - (Not a star) but great performance - loss
17. Cavs - LeBron (27 + 7 + 6 ) - Star but was avarage game for him - 3 point win
18. Detroit - C.Billups (22 + 16 as) - Star - loss
19. Toronto C.Bosh (26 + 13) - Star - loss
20. Griz - No stars (Gasol and Studamier out) - win

We defeneely have a huge problem defending star players. Especially PG and C/PFs
And we all now why - our guard and bigs all cucks on defensive end.

I will tell it again - we can win ONLY if opponent team has no stars in the roster at given day or they have off game.
Our faith is NOT in our hands and the reason for this - hurrendous DEFENCE abilities of our guards and centers

You have to acknowledge that as a team we're a bit behind many of the teams we're facing. We didn't really have any kind of identity or system coming into this season. The Rotation is still in flux. Other teams have a better sense of what they want to do and we're still figuring that out. In time this team will be in a better position to compete. We're also still waiting for Jared who was going to help our defense against the tougher players in the league. Now the way things are going we're gonna have a much better defensive presence with Q, Jared and Lee out there to start games.

So we get no credit for guys having an off night? Lebron dissappeared in the fourth and Q matched his output. 27 shooting well isn't an off night.

Arenas was being herassed ferociously by Steph when we blew them out and our aggressiveness put him on the bench. Thats not a fluke.

Always an excuse when we win, never an excuse when we lose.

So we have a hard time winning when star players go off on us, that's true. But I think the real problem is that we're 0-13 when the other team outscores us.

I dont' find his interviews to be tough at all. I find them soft and he never really gets anyone to give an answer they aren't comfortable with. I prefer Wilbon and Kornheiser
I just hope that people will like me
