Is Frye more suited to play at C, rather than PF?

It seems to me that no matter how well Frye progresses this year, he will never fit what Knicks fans expect from a PF.
He will never be an intimidating presence on D, and a beast on the boards... (David Lee is likely to develop into that role).
Frye is as much a PF as he is a small forward!
I just don't see the benefit in not letting him roam the floor as a Marcus Camby type C with an added benefit of having the ability to score from the outside.

Frye is center. he is to slow for the PF spot. and goes from being a bad defender to a solid one when you move him from PF to C. he's a much better defensive center than Curry.

Yeah, I would try him at center. I see him also as a Camby type of player. If there were a lot of dominant centers in the league I might have a worry but that just isn't the case. Frye could back up Curry and float to the other two spots when necessary.

I am not convinced that Frye cannot play PF, but I do agree that he can be effective as a center with a little more strength. He seems to be a slightly better shot-blocker than Curry and has more focus on defense. He also has the ability to score on opposing centers in the paint.

I see him also as a Camby type of player.

Physically, they look similar, I guess. However, Camby is a better athlete, dominant rebounder, very good defender, blocks a lot of shots, can defend four positions. The only thing Frye has on Camby is a jump shot... and actually Camby has a pretty good jump shot now.

So far, they both do have a propensity for getting injured, though. So if that were the basis of your comparison, I might agree.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Frye often gets out muscled by pfs. How is he going to deal with banging bodies with much bigger center inside for 35 mpg then be able to shoot as well. He is a tweener. Also while he can defend some centers he doesnt like to go inside much on offense so we end up with a KT type offense where our big guy gets 1-2 ft per game
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Frye was drafted to be a center. He is more a soft type Euro center who won't get a lot of rebounds but can run the floor good and has a nice shot from mid range.

Let him continue to beef up and get his low post game together.

He not a camby type, but I can see a bit of Duncan in him IF he can get his foot work together.

Jeffries will start ahead of Frye when he gets back, Frye can play all three positions therefore he would still get plenty of playing time. I would start Curry, QRich, Jeffries, Steph and Francis (Craw and Francis would be better). A bench of Frye, Balk, Lee, Nate, Craw would be high energy. I'd find about 8 to 10 mins a game for Mard man too. I'd keep Cato and Malik and try me best to trade JJames.

I like Frye and all but I think he can only play C and PF, not three positions.

I agree Frye is a Center and should be backing up Curry.

I'm hoping the Knicks can trade Francis and get back a power forward that can rebound & block shots.

A second unit of

Balkman, Frye, Lee makes up a nice front line off the bench.
Is Frye more suited to play at C, rather than PF?
