I will say this--this is the best prospect since Shaq--better than Lebron James or anyone else drafted since Shaq. This level prospect is at the Lew Alcindor Bill Russell Hakeem Olujawon Shaq Oneal level. As much as a huge prospect patrick Ewing was--physically Greg Oden is miles ahead of him. There is no player in CBB that compares to this player and if Ohio State doesnt win it all, I will be shocked. As good as Florida is--and you would expect they will pick it up--even their two great players upfront will be stymied by this team. The team to win this guy in the lottery is instantly a NBA title contender--and even though there is an unlikely possibilty the NY Knicks couldve won the draft lottery this year--to somehow pawn out of it was insane. This is a two way DOMINATING player that will be the best player in the nBA the minute he is drafted. The only comparable player is a healthy Stoudemire--and while he isplaying very well--he isnt the same player from 2 years ago and he doesnt have Oden's rebounding or shot blocking abilities. This is a uber athletic 7-1 275 pound athlete who will physically dominate his NBA counterparts.

I watched the Ohio St game yesterday (against Val) and I was not impressed with Oden.

I watched him against Florida and I wasn't impressed either.

Does this guy really remember Patrick at GTown....Does this guy remember Patrick leading his team to 3 Championship games in 4 years in an era when players stayed in school...Does he remember what the Big East stood for during those days....Does he remember the makeup of St. Johns, Villanova, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Providence and the other big name schools in the country...Patrick played these guys nightly ands won...Please Earl tell BRIGGS to have some reverence...

Whether he gets to the level of Shaq, Ewing, Hakeem, or Russel will be entirely up to him and his willingness to work on his game. From watching him, he looks like it will take him 2-3 years before he will be able to really dominate on both ends of the floor in the NBA, but the kid is huge and very athletic. He will be a force on defense as a rookie. Hopefully, he stays in school one more year.

How quick we are to forget that Lebron has been gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated since his junior year in high school and actually lived up to everything promised (and then some).

For every Lebron James there are 20 Ed O'Bannon's :)
