Considering the play of the team since his injury I think the answer is no. It is mainly Curry more than the absence of Frye, but I don't see any passion in Channing's play. I recall a post Djsunyc saying that RJ from the Nets telling Frye to just make his money and get out of NY. I get the feeling that's just wha he is doing.

We need all our players to improve. Frye despite a couple of good nights is no where near the player we hoped for this year. He has basically been a 6-11 shooting guard. 15 fts in 15 games or so? Thats KT territory. Some of our players have had around 15 fts in 1 game. Still frye isnt the biggest problem since lee is playing very well. we are desparate for a ball distributing shut down defender at guard
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Honestly--the more I look at it, the more I'd rather have a player like Hilton Armstrong than frye. Frye might have more offensive talent, but Hilton can do many more things[including putting up points] that would HELP this team now and into the future. If you take a step back and be reasonable--we need an interior player who can block/alter some shots--who can play 5 when Curry is out who can fill a synergistic role for this team. I think Frye is a tad soft. Hilton reminds me a lot of a young Dale Davis with better offensive skills. He's a tougher dude than frye and he would help us NOW. I wish somehow we could swap or find a team that would be willing to take frye for something that NO wants if they dont want Frye.

Delete Reply This is what I would do...I give Curry until Channing comes back. If Curry is playing the same way, you open yourself up to shop Channing. Try and get back that young guard and maybe a pick-Lakers for Farmar and a pick, Utah for DeRon and maybe a 2nd rounder...something like that. Or expand it so you can include a guy like Steph or Francis (Steph and Frye for a package including Farmar, Kwame(FA year after next), Mihm(FA after this year, cut), and McKie(FA after this year, cut) may really interest LA, IMO-and it works under the cap:

Incoming

Jordan Farmar
6-2 from UCLA
No games yet played in 2005/06

Aaron McKie
6-5 SG from Temple
0.5 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.8 apg in 8.6 minutes

Chris Mihm
7-0 C from Texas
10.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.0 apg in 26.2 minutes

Kwame Brown
6-11 C from Glynn Academy (HS)
7.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.0 apg in 27.5 minutes

Outgoing

Channing Frye
6-11 C from Arizona
12.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 0.8 apg in 24.2 minutes

Stephon Marbury
6-2 PG from Georgia Tech
16.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 6.4 apg in 36.6 minutes
Change in team outlook: +10.5 ppg, -5.6 rpg, and +4.4 apg.

Successful Scenario

LA would Floor
Marbury
Kobe
Odom
Frye
Bynum

NY would Floor
Farmar
Q
Jefferies
Lee
Curry

Now if Curry starts reverting in that time...you got to open yourself up to moving either one of them because they don't balance each other out.

Honestly, I know the team would be much better with, Nate-Craw-Balk-Frye off the bench..... Im so soured on marbury.

first of all, if channing is is listening to Richard Jefferson, then he is a fool, richard needs to worry about his sorry play... I do like Hilton armstrong briggs, He is a okafor type shot blocker in some ways, and his offense is not that bad, I would do a frye for Hilton and a unprotected first round pick....

No way in heaven or hell the Lakers do that trade.

1) I believe if Phil Jackson wanted any part of Steph, he would've agreed to coach here last season.

2) Phil Jackson runs an extremely structured offense, something we all know Steph despises.

3) Do you honestly think Steph could co-exist with Kobe?

THe Lakers would want Jamal, who actually does have knowledge of the triangle.

Why don't we look at our young players as assets, let them play and see how they develop...We aren't winning a Championship the next two years anyway...Why don't we see if DLee is as good as everyone here think he is or if Frye and Curry can turn into something...Why don't we give it some time....We have watch Layden, Checketts, and Larry Brown do their best to srew this organization...Zeke assembled some young talent and now they are playing hard...Where is Bip and his changing culture speech...It's happening before our eyes and we don't want to acknowledge it...It's still very early...I can't wait until February to see what we have, this is exciting...

I agree. Frye has convinced me of two things: 1) he will never be a Kevin Garnet, and 2) he is not a scrub player. What he becomes in-between those two levels remains to be seen. Before we go trading him for some other young unproven player we should see what he develops into for at least another year. He started playing better before he got hurt and I think that he can become a better offensive and defensive player than he has shown. I agree that he might be better coming off the bench and playing more center, but outside of those changes, we should keep him and see what he does.
