It is time to give Zeke some props for getting this hodge-podge, reduntant group of projects to play selfless entertaining basketball for at least 38 minutes a night. Its not always perfect and pretty, but it is more than I expected... this team plays hard and selfless... I am impressed.

At this stage in the Knicks rebuilding process, their record is not as relevant - they are losing against teams that have been playing together for a long time and are usually better squads.
I am impressed with how Zeke has them building chemistry and an identity.
I am pleasantly surprized with the way this team has responded to his coaching.
The future is bright...

Well, he was the right coach all along. Not Has-Been Lenny, Lame-Duck Don or Lying Larry. He built this squad and Indy proved he was a better coach than a GM. Your coach and GM have to share the same vision to succeed. Who better knows Zeke's vision than himself, right? :)

That said, you're right, we are playing entertaining ball. But that's not the goal here, the goal is to play winning ball. We have to go 36-29 the rest of the way to have a winning record so it's not impossible. Let's hope they get the job done b/c this is one NYK fan that's more entertained by winning.

...they gotta scrap for playing time.

It would be stupid to make short term solutions for the sake of getting eliminated in the first round.
We have a true chance now to groom young talent, create a unified team ethic and identity for this club to be a contender for the years ahead... the playoffs don't concern me, I just want to keep seeing this team play together selflessly, everything else will fall into place with time.

Playoff experience (especially in the early stages of one's career) is a LOT more valuable than you're giving it credit for. First round ass-kicking or not. I would hate to see any of our young guys have to wait like Shareef Abdur-Rahim had to go to the playoffs.

Anyhow, I didn't say anything about making short-term solutions. We tried that already numerous times. What I am saying is we can be a winning team with the guys we have by the exact same methods you're talking about. 36-29 isn't impossible.

No more KG rumours...
no more trade this guy each time a player slumps...
stick with this group and let them develop chemestry, they will only get better.

I just want Knick fans to be patient and let this team gel; they will see some pretty entertaining and enjoyable games.

He still sucks as GM. And he is average as a coach at best. I dunno what's so good about him to impressed with. I'm still disgusted with him.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

He still gets an INC, but he is getting his players to bust their butts and some of them seem to be developing.

Holfresh, if that happens, than yeah I change that tune.

Question is if the Knicks continue to suck, don't maky the playoffs, will you come up with more excuses?

Wouldn't you equate Buford with Grunwald of the Knicks... doesn't Popovitch make the final call on the roster decisions in SA?

I think Buford is highly thought of throughout the league. I also think that it was only after Grunfeld left that the MSG Prez (his name slips my mind) started pulling the strings. Grunfeld orchestrated the Sprewell Starks and the Camby Oakley deals. Too bad Grunfeld and VG didn't get along...I thought Grunfeld was a solid GM.

true, fish, that record is poor. however, i do feel more confidant in this group than i have in years. they won 6 games against good competition. plus the fact that they are heading into the soft part of their schedule and currently a seed in the eastern conference ( though this conference is the weakest i have ever seen including those inferior years in the early 2000's) is noteworthy. we are competing with a talented team that has yet to hit its stride and perform in all cylinders. it is not lip service to think that we will get better.

Exactly! What has been so entertaining about losing every night? I like that they've seemingly been competitive more often than not in these games. But they still have many of the same problems as last year...
