6. Jackie Butler, SA
2005-06 season: Butler was the Knicks' third-string center, but he was one of the team's most productive big men and should have played much more than he did. He wasn't expected to play a big role...

6th highest rated.

Blah. What the hell does Hollinger know anyone with his stupid statistics.

Let's hope Curry keeps making strides forward. Too much talent for him to not succeed...

I kinda liked him but if we signed him..no money for Jared Jeffries.

Anybody talk to Wiz fans to see what they think of him?

Butler is the 3rd string center behind Oberto and Elson. He hasnt really wowed anyone in SA
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Jackie's still young, but I think people here overrated him primarily because they were frustrated with Curry. (including John Hollinger, who is, let's not forget, a Knicks fan)

BTW, whether you believe it or not, based on what he writes, a HUGE Knicks fan. He really wants this team to do well. Im surprised, as a Knicks fan that ESPN has hired him. It makes no sense.

When Larry played him big minutes JackieBlue he did good. Not great, but good. If we did not have BigSnackes, we could have kept him.

JackieBlue is getting 3mm and is in a great system that cultivates talent. He is young, getting paid nice and learning. He is out of this pressure zoo and has a good shot of getting it done next year.

Its just not his time. Better to be with winners than stew in this mess and not get minutes.

I would have preferred Butler as a cheap alternative backup, but we had JJ1 and there was nothing IT could really do about that this summer. So cutting BUtler was probably the best move. I think Butler will develop into a competent backup center in the future.

Hollinger is an idiot. What is the point of developing complicated statistical rankings when the end result is that lesser players get ranked higher than players that are going to actually produce on the court. Butler the 6th rated center in the league. What a joke.

Butler's already shown me more than Curry ever has over his career.

It's time to start comparing Butler to Jerome James, as that is who replaced him on the roster...

didn't they replace jackie with david lee?

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

The PER rating is based purely on numbers so his Knicks bias wouldn't come through there much.

Curry actually came in to camp in better shape than butler did. Butler was near 30% body fat which is unreal

So if both these guys were coming out of college this year you would pick Butler over Curry?
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate
