I could be wrong. but I think his point was not to talk smack on a forum if you wouldnt say it in real life. I didnt really read anything about marbury in there. I could be wrong tho, and not know what you guys are talkingt about.

Is the right to fans interest in voicing an opinion mean that we should go and make personal insults and attacks that we would likely not do if we knew them or saw them face to face? Personally, I doubt it because we have the protection of posting our comments on an Internet forum about famous folks who we dislike, and the reasoning that simply because we are discussing sports that we are allowed to say "what we feel."

What about Jimmy "The Greek?" He certainly voiced his opinion loud and clear. Where do we draw the line on where we can make fun of, or hurl insults that generally are not accepted in human interaction without consequences? Is "the right" to say and do what we want mean we should have no restraint?

I know my view is unpopular here because we like to hurl insults at and vent our frustrations about the Knicks and some of its members, but how much are we thinking about the tone we set as fans? Is there no other way to express frustration other than insults, swearing and to make fun of them?

First off I commend you on 'responding to a topic'. If your point is that calling Marbury a childish name is inappropriate I might be able to see that. However bringing racism and Jimmy the Greek into it is quite a stretch. As I posted earlier, I am extremely frustrated with Marbury. I love the Knicks and I hate the impact he has had on the franchise. I see this as place where I can share my opinion. To compare what I posted to racism is way out of line. If you think that my callling him Dinglebury was immature say that. Getting on a soapbox, talking about racism, I think you are way off. My opinion is based on passion for the team I like to follow. Feel free to disagree with it. Do not imply that I am a coward or racist.
