First Move get rid of Eddy Curry by any means necessary.

Troy Hudson
6-1 PG from Southern Illinois
9.5 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 22.1 minutes
Kevin Garnett
6-11 PF from Farragut Academy (HS)
21.8 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 4.0 apg in 39.0 minutes
Incoming
Steve Francis
6-3 PG from Maryland
14.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.9 apg in 34.2 minutes
Eddy Curry
6-11 C from Thornwood (HS)
13.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 0.3 apg in 25.9 minutes
Channing Frye
6-11 C from Arizona
12.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 0.8 apg in 24.2 minutes

PLUS CASH AND OUR FIRST ROUND PICK

Gives Minny Frye and Curry and they will tank the rest of the year and have their pick with our pick, and Francis expires when Garnett does. Give them whatever else they want. They get a little relief with Hudson, The Wolves are not run right and they do have two nice players in their backcourt McCants/Foye to go with Curry/Frye.

In this case we can either do one of two things with KG make a go of it or trade him for value.....

KG/James
Lee/Rose
Jefferies/Balkman
Q/Crawford
Marbury/Nate/Hudson

That team is tough to beat and has a little bit of everything, or we could just make a move to get younger players that fit the team to put with Lee/Robinson/Balkman.

nothing personal, but these kinds of posts are crazy. would you give up KG for anything on our roster? of course you wouldnt! you know what we can get for Curry at BEST mark Blount and a restricted number 1 thats it.

i would throw in nate as well to make the deal work, you would have to listen, if you getting three young players, if nate shot the ball as much as ben gordon he would put up similiar numbers; the bulls were talking about a gordon, thomas, deng swap, which is a little better not positive how much though.

I have to agree with arkrud. We've had talented players here the last X seasons. Tim Thomas has talent. Marbury and Francis. Curry. etc.

It should be painfully obvious to everyone who follows the NBA at this point that what the Knicks needed was someone who was experienced with rebuilding a roster.

Instead this was James Doughlan's thought process:

Hmmm..who would be a rad GM? I know! Magic Johnson! He was an awesome basketball player right? Therefore he's gottta be great at evaluating talent, assembling players that complement each other, and managing the salary cap.

Magic told Foolan he was unavailable but he gave him Isiah's number. So he hired Isiah and then went to smoke some dope and play crappy rock music with his "band".

Generally a team can be ok with it's owners being complete morons ONLY if they have good basketball people. Apparently Dolan is surrounded by a bunch of spineless turds who said "Isiah Thomas. Brilliant idea!" and didn't say "Ummmm..Jimmy..we know Isiah was one of the best point guards of all time but he couldn't get Indiana out of the first round and may have singlehandedly ruined the CBA as well."

Point being. It will be impossible to build a winning team until we have cap space and a GM who knows how to use it wisely. Isiah is a great evaluator of young talent but it seems he is unaware that the players he aquires have these things called "contracts". A contract is an agreement between a team and a player where the team commits to paying the players "a salary" [that's money for working] for a number of years. There's also something called a "salary cap". If you keep on collecting and singing players that have these huge "contracts" for 10 years and $100 million you won't be able to do anything.

Let's all devote the rest of our season to maybe having an in person meeting in front of MSG and forming some kind of interfaith prayer circle where we pray that Dolan doesn't hire someone like Pete Babcock to take over.

It will be beautiful. Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and Giants Fans [let's go BLUE!] hand in hand. Maybe a local newspaper or TV station will come and we can air our grievances in a rational manner.
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

arkrud - and you would bring in what savior to be the President of Basetball ops?

and how long (don't forget the Bulls are in years seven... yes 7... of their total rebuild) would you give him to get to... where exactly?

I wouldn't say the Bulls are rebuilding - they've made the playoffs two years in a row and played extremely well against the champs in the playoffs last year.

I think we'd all be shocked if they missed the playoffs this year, I mean, it's a possibility, but they also have PJ Brown's expiring deal and lots of young talent and picks if they want to go out and get a Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett.

I'll just be happy if we beat them tonight and stay close enough in the standings where the pick swap doesn't hurt.

mr earl, check the calendar and get back to me at the end of the season - I'd love to see the Bulls miss the playoffs, but to say their season is over after 12 games is insane. they started 0-10 in 04-05 and still made the playoffs. they've been a second half team with Skiles/Hinrich/Gordon and co.

hey, I said last night that the Nets aren't so hot right now. the division is wide open. it's a bit early to think about that though. right now, I'd like to get Curry, Marbury and Francis right and figure out how to work in Jefferies. Then think about getting to .500. Then we think playoffs and take a look around the league and see what everyone else is doing.

It's too damn early. Everyone has problems they are trying to figure out right now. You think the Heat are going to keep their 4-8 pace for the rest of the way? or that the Jazz are going to keep their 11-1 pace up? the league is weird right now, people are trying to make adjustments. I also think that Pierce and maybe Garnett will be moved this year and the Bulls are one of the few teams that can make a solid offer - so it's a bit early to gloat. Also, let's see if we beat them tonight before saying they're garbage. Because if they're garbage and they beat us, what does that make us? I just want to beat'em tonight.
