WOW at the nets commetns on Steph.. i never seen these before

"The difference between last year and this year?" ponders an emotional Kenyon Martin, taking out his furiously repressed feelings on his sneaker laces in the near-deserted Nets locker room an hour before facing the Indiana Pacers. `This year we have guys who want to play. Last year we had some people in here who were too busy tapping themselves on the shoulder, telling themselves how great they were."

"Last year, we didn't play any defense," forward Aaron Williams, a 6'10" supersub, chimes in from the next stall. "On any NBA team, the leader sets the tone. And our leader didn't bother playing D most nights."

"He thought he was too good for that--then he'd blame everybody else, pointing fingers," Martin adds. "I'm not naming any names, you understand, but this was an unhappy, divided locker room last year. And the division was one guy on one side and everyone else on the other."

"Yes, we did have one guy in here last year who thought he was too good for everybody else on the team and didn't mind saying so," smiles GM Rod Thorn, still remaining strictly incognito about the "one guy's" identity. "And he was, too. Better than everyone else, that is. But it all didn't add up to much, did it?"

What it added up to was a woeful 26-56 record, with an even a woeful-er 57-107 over the entire "Marbury Era;" to be exact.

"Still, thank God for Stephon," Thorn says. "Without him, we could have never gotten the other kid."

thanks seats,

it's interesting how all anyone has to do is flame away to get threads they don't approve of removed.

I loved the post that did the trick:

Because people like the moron who created this thread to begin with wish the Nets played at MSG instead of the Knicks so they wouldn't be forced to root for a team they don't like.

If people wish Marbury was gone that is their perogative. I don't care if they dislike his style of play or his personality. My issue is the patholigical hatred idiots like Blue Seats have developed for a person who has done nothing to him whatsoever. From reading posts by these idiots you would think that Marbury *** **** their mothers, pistol whipped their fathers and beat their little sister over the head with his penis repeatedly while deficating on top of an infant. The depths of hatred over something so meaningless as basketball is seriously unhealthy and disturbing.

what I love most is that it took three edits to craft that winner.

what i love second most is that even if all his commentary about me were true (moron, idiot, nets fan, unhealthy pathologic hate, etc) it does nothing to refute the criticism from marbury's coaches, GMs and teammates.

what i love third most is that by being a pubescent he "wins" by getting the thread killed.

what i love fourth most is that is the clientele that board caters to - and precisely why, by management, i have been purposely made to feel unwelcome there - because i challenge them on it.

oh well, i had some fun times back then, but i read some of my old posts and extended debates and i wonder where it all came from. i had a passion for debate back then, but the content of all my rants are self-evident now. there is no need for a blue seats anymore, most people are beating the same drum, and i couldn't do it again if i wanted to. i've lost my mojo and i'm reduced to bitter one-liners, like an old comedic lounge lizard who fills his liver with alcohol and dreams of moving to florida to retire. i'm like the fat, spent, destitute jake lamotta character in Raging Bull, who when his career was over became a bad nightclub act and he'd look at his pathetic self in the mirror while practicing his lame jokes, and say of himself "that's entertainment."

That was a great thread that should not have been locked. He chose to ignore the facts and history of the post and responded by saying things in a manner that should have just had his post deleted. I hope his message was not written with the intent of getting the thread locked.

can we please just cut our losses & get rid of Marbury already? reading things like this makes me wanna puke... even worse because we have absolutely zero hope of getting any quality player back in return for him the way the Nets were able to... even still, we need to cut ties & move on... for his own sake, so does Marbury.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Great topic and great quotes. Marbury is a cancer, case closed.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

He is just further proving the point of how badly we need Marbury off this team.

I also share that hatred and it is unhealthy. So please for my health isiah, get rid of him

It's always interesting to me that the guys who can't understand how I can "hate" a basketball player "so much" (enough to do some research and opine on the reasons for his failings) feel no misgivings about hating ME so much.

Who's more significant in the grand scheme of things, me or Marbury? At least if I'm gonna hate I'm gonna hate with good reason.

It won't happen Zeke just lied to the media over the Steve Francis benching all because he's in love with Marbury.
