if you could run this team with the current situation what would you do? and dont give me these bogus trades involving Marbury, Francis or Curry.. Nobody will take these players.. Not for spit.. not for ****... not for nothin... Why would any team want to take on our that WE dont want? If you prepose a deal like that you must give some sort of rational.

Here are my steps:

Step One
Buyout Stephon Marbury. I think hes actually a decent player but, i dont think he can and will ever succeed IN NEW YORK. Too much pressure If minnesota will take him, i'd look at it for virtually anyone that doesent hurt our cap any more than it is. Otherwise - Ditch him, simply to restore a winning additude.

Step Two
Start Francis at the 1... But not for long
I have small faith in Steve... just cuz he usually brings it with all hes got... so i would give him an ultimadum... Play hard and play right, or you can get bought out too. If he goes for it great, if not.. Goodbye. Buy him out.

Step Three
Bench Eddy Curry, but involve him in serious fitness programs and extra workout sessions.

I would assign this guy a NEW bigman coach.. Maybe Ewing.. someone to work with him after practice, i would make this man work harder and longer than any other player on the team.. and i wouldent even let him play... Sparingly MAYBE some backup minutes.. if we wants to act like hes not ready.. I'd treat him like hes not ready.. and i'd get him ready. Give him a nutriciounist. Make him loose 15 pounds, make him practice longer than every other player. I'd really give it to this dude hard.. No homo.
If he responds.. slowly work him into the rotation.. if not.. Drop him.

Step four
Scout the hell out of the D-league, europe etc

I would go searching for hungry talent other places than the draft and or trade. If im droppin all these players i need to find me a couple of john starks/anthony masons.

Step Five
Trade one of our swingmen for a tough big man that plays D... Someone with Kmart potential (pre injury)
Balkman/Jeffries/QRich... ALl should have value.. One can be spared... Trade one for a big that does similar things or at least has the potential to.

Frye-James-Curry
Lee- ???
Qrich-Jeffries-Balk- (one of the 3)
Jamal-Nate
Steve-Nate

My philosiphy would be this.... Perform.. or get CUT.. I dont care about your contract.. If you dont work hard.. your gone.. and we'll sign free agents who hustle until the contracts run out and we can sign a superstar... build thru the draft.. etc.

NY Fans wait it out... I'd be happy to.. if this was the plan and they stuck by it.

1 - unload Marbury by any means necessary w/o taking on longer contracts in return... if you have to buy him out, so be it... it will be addition by subtraction... this team doesn't need him & all the distractions & drama he brings w/him

2 - new starting rotation = Curry / Frye / Lee / Q Rich / Francis
- Frye & Lee's rebounding will allow Curry to focus on scoring inside, & Q's presence on the perimeter will improve their defense... if Francis doesn't perform, then like Elite said i'd bench him w/a quickness & start Jamal at the point

3 - sign a long, athletic shotblocker out of the NBDL or CBA

4 - sign up for a very good health insurance program, stock up on the maalox & get ready for another long, long season

Trade Francis and start David Lee. THat's all this team really needs right now.

I don't like Lee at the 3, I think he plays a lot better as a 4. I'd rather frye come off the bench as a backup center and split most of his time with curry, maybe for about 5 minutes or so play frye and curry. if frye is in the 2nd unit maybe it will motivate crawford to stop jacking up shots so much.

I just hope that people will like me

perform or get cut? Great solution i'll sit on my ass do nothing and get paid for it and actually make more money once another team signs for it......

1. MARBURY Basically what you do with Marbury is you say listen opt out of your deal and I will give you 20 million, so in essence you save a ton of money and he can still sign a deal with a team and make more money for himself in the long run and have his pick at where he would like to go....his value is dropping by the second but there are some teams out there who might take a chance on him for 3 years at 8-9 million, season tickets will go up if he is traded, the garden will make more money in the long run

Crawford
We are not winning with Crawford, so I would shop him around the league and see whats out there, I don't need or want a player that has to dick around with the ball for half the clock to be effective....if LA would trade, Mihm and Mckie for him-done contract gone and space opened.

No one is taking Q so that is just out of the question we have to live with him and Francis, which is ok......

TAKE OUR LUMPS FOR A YEAR AND PRAY, THAT WADE REALIZES PAT RILEY ALWAYS FUCKS HIS TEAM IN THE LONG RUN and that team is going no where in the long run, and NY is his best option to take the spotlight from Lebron as the number 1 marquee in the league

Nate/Collins
Wade/Q
Jefferies
Lee/Frye
Curry/James

Thats your team in two years if you play things right; I would also be curious to see what Chris Bosh does, he can't like the direction of the Raptors and we will have some tradable pieces Frye/Nate for a player that is going to leave in the free agent market could get it done in a sign and trade

he has a bad back dude, a long term deal that isn't covered if he injures it, he is going to bring back a player of lesser value with a bad contract; just because he is having a terrific year doesn't mean that teams are necessarily interested....

He is one of the bright spots on this team right now along with david lee, and nate; but if there is an oppurtunity to move him for an expiring deal I would take that as well he is a good veteran for a winning team, something this group will never be, so you need to start moving these contracts in order to start over

I agree.. I have no doubt Denver among others would pick him up very quickly and give up picks to do so

New York Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Stephon Marbury
6-2 PG from Georgia Tech
16.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 6.4 apg in 36.6 minutes
Channing Frye
6-11 C from Arizona
12.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 0.8 apg in 24.2 minutes
Nate Robinson
5-9 PG from Washington
9.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 2.0 apg in 21.4 minutes
Incoming
Dale Davis
6-11 C from Clemson
0.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.2 apg in 6.4 minutes
Nazr Mohammed
6-10 C from Kentucky
6.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 17.3 minutes
Antonio McDyess
6-9 PF from Alabama
7.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 21.2 minutes
Chauncey Billups
6-3 PG from Colorado
18.5 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 8.6 apg in 36.1 minutes

Get Chuncey to leave Detriot, they aren't looking exceptional either over there, and maybe he would get the exposure he wants if he comes here. The deal is far fetched but they are going to have to pay a ton to resign billups and they get good young talent in the deal.

Billups/Francis
Q/Collins
Jefferies/Balkman
Lee/
Curry/Snack

Who is denver trading for Q? JR Smith is a better option because he plays SG and is dirt cheap. You ****ing think Denver is taking on another bad contract that isn't insured with KMart on their books, plus Nene.....

Don't think so.....
