courtesy of queenie:

- Isiah put the franchise on Marbury's shoulders and to a lesser extent, Francis. Neither is playiong well and Zeke doesn’t have time for these guys. If you are not playing well, you sit.

Brandon Tierney on line:

- Marbury with towel on his head = unhappy; Marbs with towel on head and on lap (2 towels) = raging

- Francis bad shot and Marbs turnover led Isiah to stage a preemptive strike which was the benching of Franbury

- The second unit of Nate, Jamal, Lee and Balkman earned Isiah's trust

- When Marbs is on the bench with the GM/Pres/Coach he wanted so badly and would do anything for shows that this is not working

- BT said he looks at box scores (not at Okafor or Howard, but Okur-ish types) and then look at Curry and scratches his head

- Evidently, Curry was not pissed off enough by Yao's performance on him last week to do something

- The guards have made a concerted effort to get Curry the ball- Curry would make a strong move and then Yao blocks his shot- they keep on doing it and then realize its ineffective so they go away from it

- BT doesn’t buy in to Eddy's upside- BT said Curry will never be a defensive warrior or dynamo in the post

- The Knicks record is 4-8; not as bad as BT and SAS thought- but they think the Celtic game really hurt them (thought they could beat lesser teams and compete with the big boys)

- When the Knicks shut down LBJ, then Damon Jones lights them up or Chuckie Atkins

- BT says there is no one to go to and JC is the only one- you cant be mad when he goes off because you cannot minimize his contributions- BT said the Knicks would be blown out by 15-20 points if it werent for the points JC puts up during droughts and when the team falters towards the ends of games.

- SAS: Eddy Curry looks like a damn statue out there- does he have a heart problem or a "heart" problem; Curry is soft- his head looks like 3 different people and is backside is bigger than J-Lo's

- SAS: put Jerome James in b/c he cannot do worse; "Curry needs to get it together"

- SAS gave proprs to Steph the other day because he had no to's in 2 games BUT Marbs has proven that he is no franchise player, "he is a good talent that needs greatness around him because he can't do it on his own"

- Francis is not a SG and he is playing out of position. Francis is ineffective.

- JC and Nate are flat out outplaying Franbury and Zeke should start NateCraw because they deserve it- Franbury should come off the bench.

- Franbury's D is despicable- Stephon doesn’t fight thru screens/fights under the screen and Francis lets everyone blow by on the baseline

- When are the guards going to pressure the ball?

- SAS spoke to H20 and Starks on Sat night: Houston said that the squad is talented but there are no experienced vets/winners (Malik doesn’t count)- Isiah needs someone- A GUARD - who knows how to win.

Good recap bro.

Marbury has really disappointed me. I'm hoping but I doubt he will return to the level of 3 years ago. Eddy Curry has no motivation. If these guys are playing the same type of basketball in January, Isiah needs to start thinking trade.

they are tough to come by. Maybe we could have drafted one.. someone from a winning program that thrived in pressure situations. I cant think of anyone off hand.

Hate to say it but I am beginning to believe a lot of the criticisms are looking more true by the day, as I watch the games. Time ain't up on those that are most criticized yet, but it's sad to see most of them keep their critics yapping away.

Curry is very concerning to me, maybe even more so than Marbury and Francis, because we invested so much into him, and is likely with us long term, while the other two will be gone in two years, in the worst case scenario.

The best news to me is to see most of the other young guys really showing their value. I haven't lost all faith yet, but Isiah and co. are not helping themselves much. Some on other forums say that it may take a year or two more to see real improvement. I don't think management, or most fans however, will tolerate that after such ineptitude for years.

I say move Q to SG at least that gives you a SG that can play both sides of the ball and will compete. make this move when JJ comes back.....

I actually disagree with the notion that Steph doesn't fight over picks, he's actually one of only guards that DOES fight over the picks, it's Nate and jamal that always go behind the pick. I tape the games and I'm telling you he doesn't do it nearly as much as they tried to make it seem. Overall Steph actually is defending harder this year.

Look the only real issue is that in this SL, you have Q who deserves to get shots based on how he started the year, Frye who they've been deliberately feeding to get him going and then Curry who they are also force feeding to try and make him look better and feel more confident about his game. Then you have both Steph and Francis with this mindset of not being aggressive. If they shot as much as jamal and Nate we'd be KILLING them. So right now they have to find a balance. Still they got pulled due to TO's and not so much because they weren't shooting. They can't come out in the 3rd qtr with a lack of energy and focus, so Isiah quickly recognized this and made a change, which is exactly what he should do. We don't need to change the SL, we need to change the MENTAL approach of Steph and Francis in particular they need to realize that they still have to play their game even when trying to make sure that others get going.

I think if they came out more aggressive to start the 3rd that would be the right way to play it. They need to take charge later in the game. It's OK to start off getting others involved but we need them to be more aggressive later in games. I believe that this will happen and this team will find it's proper balance.

Say what? I stopped reading after this. I can't believe you think he fights over the picks. Maybe we're watching different games?

Actually....I think the Knicks coaching strategy is to go underneath the picks. The Big man is consistently dropping back to let the guard through.

That's true. Playing actual defense might risk an injury.

I agree with most of the points but Marbs has been playing much better D this year...He seems to play bigger guys better where he can use his strength but also always seems to get beat off the dribble at the top of the key...

eFG% against Marbury this year:
PGs 0.515 (66% of his minutes)
SGs 0.457 (33% of his minutes)
eFG% against Marbury last year:
PGs 0.510 (80% of his minutes)
SGs 0.393 (20% of his minutes)

actually his defense isnt any better at all. At least statistically its not.

whats really scary is how much better the Knicks are when Marbury is off the court. They are -9.6 with him on and +5.4 with him off.

Last year?

They were -5.6 with him on but -7.1 with him off. Last year they went from bad to worse without Steph on the floor. This year? They are a winning unit.

I'm not concerned with Steve, Steph or Curry. Because outside of the lower numbers(due to trying to fit in the offense) they are doing exactly as they have done all their careers. None of this should be surpising.
I just hope that people will like me

SAS is really laying it on vs. marbury. he gets on him pretty much every single chance he can.

and i think it's b/c he's boys with lb and knows marbury played a huge role in what went down last year.
