All your eally need is 1 team WILLING to give him a 4-5 year MLE and the Knicks willingness to give him HALF of his full contract. I think there IS a team willing to give Marbury 4 year 20+mm--now do knicks want to pull the trigger again?????

the team owes Marbury roughly 50mm$ If they gave him 25$ in a lump sum and he found a team willing to sign him for the 5 years 30mm$--it would be similar to playing his days out here at full price and playing his last two years at a figure around 2-3mm per--which is on par with older vets at that point.

LARRY WAS RIGHT, BACK THE TRUCK UP.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

i don't see any teams willing to sign Marbury at this stage to a 4-5 year deal... & MIN doesn't have the cap space to sign him to any FA contracts over the veteran's minimum so a sign & trade would have to be worked out taking on their garbage, which would make no sense for the Knicks.

i'm thinking more in the lines of the Knicks buying out Marbs for ~$35 million & some team like the Hawks who are in need of a PG who may have some cap flexibility to sign him him for 2 years at ~$7.5 million per, which would amount to the remaining amount on his contract at lesser years... this benefits Marbury by making whatever he makes in the 3rd season via free agency bonus money he wouldn't have had otherwise, as well as providing him a chance to start anew on a team that will look to him to be a scorer, so he's more likely to be agreeable to it... he'd also be returning to Georgia where he attended college for a year, & he's traditionally played well against the Hawks over his career so those fans will appreciate his game.

if the Knicks get lucky & Isiah can pull a fast one on Billy Knight, maybe a sign & trade could be worked out involving Speedy Claxton, Lorenzen Wright & a future protected pick for Marbury... Claxton can be a decent backup PG & he plays defense if nothing else... Wright is plain filler, but his contract is not crippling in the least & expires after next season... i think ATL may have the cap space to make a deal like this possible where they're taking on the excess $6 million in annual salary... maybe the Knicks could throw in $3 mil in cash to help offset the difference.

maybe you can package Wright along w/Malik to some team looking for some veteran role players that are willing to give up an expiring in exchange later on?

C - Curry / Cato
PF - Frye / Lee / Malik
SF - Q Rich / Balkman
SG - Crawford / Nate
PG - Francis / Claxton / Collins
IA - Jefferies / Wright / Big Turd

I don't mean to belabor this but I don't ever remember hearing LB say that he wanted Nate gone.

LB doesn't like people with bundles of energy ala Nate. He like old futty dutties like Aaron McKie and Eric Snow

It has been reported (although I can't verify the accuracy of the report) that Larry wanted to waive Nate. Either way, he jerked him around too.

Lee, Frye and Nate all got as much PT as any rookie last year.

And LB was also planning on playing "the kids" this season over any of the veterans on the team.

As for Dolan and Isiah claiming that LB wanted 5 players waived.

MoT bought out.
Jalen bought out
Marbury and Francis we all think should be bought out.

As for LB wanting to add defensive minded players.

Balkman drafted.
JJ2 signed.

Larry certainly looks like he was on to something. Too bad Isiah will screw it all up.

The PT they got was inconsistent and disconnected from when they played well or poorly. Inconsistent reinforcement schedules are an ineffective way to teach a person anything of value.

You don't have to love LB to hate Zeke. They both suck.

Hey, LB jerked the whole team around, no doubting that. Isiah is jerking Franbury right now. All coaches jerk some of their roster for better or worse at some time.

LB wanting Nate waived doesn't pass my litmus test of "is it reasonable thing to do". Did MSG put out those "reports"? Probably.

I'm a huge Stephon fan and thought he was going to rescue us from being a crappy team but he is playing like crap. He needs to go. I'd wait for a few more weeks before I start calling him an all out bench warmer.

He wanted Nate sent to the NBDL, he said that himself. He also supposedly had Nate on his list of five players who had to be waived at the end of the season.

As for Marbury - I have no idea what's wrong, but here's one thing:

Isiah needs to run some screen and rolls. We hardly run any. We have four guards who slash. We have some solid midrange shooters who can set a pick in QRich and Frye. We need to run screen and rolls. It's just that simple. Marbury is useless if he can't screen and roll. Crawford is less effective. Nate is less effective. Francis is useless either way - I want him gone more than Marbury.

If he's going to be a PG then the NBDL wouldn't be such a bad idea.

If he's going to be a 5'9 SG with no conscience then he can do that with a coach who's going to let him do that.
