we at the very least Isiah benched pretty much the whole second half. If he isnt going to be starbury on the court then he is no use to us.

We should explore getting him back with his buddy KG in Minnesota

He's on the decline and falling fast. Better trade him now b/c his value is just gonna plummet more and more.

he's untradeable at this point unless you're willing to take back the garbage contracts of Troy Hudson, Mark Blount & Marko Jaric that run longer than Marbury's.

we may just have to buy him out outright & let him go be happy in MIN alongside KG & part ways... he's never going to be a positive influence on this team imo... the Knicks are currently built to run an uptempo, team oriented style & Marbury's a halfcourt style player that needs to be featured as a scorer in order to be effective... it wasn't a good fit from the get go.

Seriously we have to consider packaging guys especially the older guys and taking on exprings, even it it means trading a little youth in the process...

New York Trade Breakdown
Outgoing

Stephon Marbury-To Minny
6-2 PG from Georgia Tech
16.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 6.4 apg in 36.6 minutes

Steve Francis-To Memphis
6-3 PG from Maryland
14.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.9 apg in 34.2 minutes

Eddy Curry-To Memphis
6-11 C from Thornwood (HS)
13.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 0.3 apg in 25.9 minutes
Incoming

Mark Blount-From Minny
7-0 C from Pittsburgh
11.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.2 apg in 27.7 minutes

Ricky Davis-From Minny(expiring)
6-7 SG from Iowa
19.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 5.0 apg in 41.2 minutes

Eddie Griffin-From Minny
6-10 PF from Seton Hall
4.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 19.4 minutes

Eddie Jones-From Memphis(expiring)
6-6 SG from Temple
11.8 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.4 apg in 32.5 minutes

Chucky Atkins-From Memphis(expiring)
5-11 PG from South Florida
9.6 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 2.8 apg in 24.1 minutes

Jake Tsakalidis-From Memphis(cut, 1 year left)
7-2 C from Greece (Foreign)
5.0 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 0.3 apg in 14.4 minutes
Change in team outlook: +17.4 ppg, +11.2 rpg, and +0.7 apg.

Minny does it to get Steph with KG let Foye shift to 2 guard. Ricky has been a HUGE disappointment this year, IMO.

Memphis does it so it can keep Pau at PF- a position he is better suited for. Gets Francis who can be a pretty good PG when he is option 1 or 2, which he would be in Memphis.

Knicks do it to get expirings, and youth (Davis is 26 and can play the 2 and 3), opens up the C spot for Frye and the PF spot for Lee.

Frye
Lee
Q
Davis
Nate

I usually defend Marbury on this board especially when people take shots at him for not being a "true pg". Marbs is/was a playmaker. But this yr, he looks like a shell of himself. Marbs keeps saying, he's doing whats asked of him. I can't believe Isiah is asking him to take 3 shots per. If thats the case, we mind as well bring Rick Brunson back, I'm sure he can manage 7pts and 4asts per and for a lot less money.

Where's the aggression to the hole? Where are the freethrow attempts? Has he declined that much so fast? It would make no sense to ask Marbury to just be the guy who starts the offense. Again, Brunson can do that. Hell, Jamison Brewer can do that. I thought Isiah was a proponent of playing to guys strengths. This isn't playing to Marbury's strength.

come on bro... we're not getting back guys like Ricky D & Griffin for Marbury... as much of a disappointment Ricky's been, his contract is not nearly as heinous as Marbury's is & their #'s are actually very comparable... plus Ricky plays defense & can guard the perimeter.

the only trade w/MIN will be for their garbage contracts.

I don't know. Their garbage contracts are decent role players. Like I said Ricky is a disappointment and a FA at the end of the year, also Griffin is really sucking too. It all depends on what Minny thinks their short term is. Try to win or try to build.

Ricky's contract expires after next season, but either way, he's still a much more palateable player to have on the roster than Marbury at this point... i just don't see MIN doing it unless the Knicks were to throw in some extra incentive, like taking another garbage contract off MIN's hands like Hudson or Jaric in addition to Blount's, which i am unwilling to do... the Knicks should just buyout Marbury than take on any role players' contracts that run past his expiring season.

I'd like to trade him because even though his value is low, he still has vlaue, IMO. Ricky would be nice here especially paired with Q to leave Craw off the bench as a swing guard. The other guys are just that, crap.

i actually like Ricky D... but i don't want any part of Blount, Jaric or Hudson's garbage contracts right now... i'd rather just buy out Marbury altogether
