Richards Has Angry Outburst at Club

LOS ANGELES -- Michael Richards stunned a comedy club audience, shouting racial epithets at people who heckled him during a stand-up routine.

The 57-year-old actor-comedian, best known for playing Jerry Seinfeld's eccentric neighbor Kramer on the hit TV show "Seinfeld," was performing at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood Friday night when he launched into the verbal rampage, according to video posted on TMZ.com.

The tirade apparently began after two black audience members started shouting at him that he wasn't funny.

Richards retorted: "Shut up! Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with a f------ fork up your a--."

He then paced across the stage taunting the men for interrupting his show, peppering his speech with racial slurs and profanities.

"You can talk, you can talk, you're brave now mother------. Throw his a-- out. He's a n-----!" Richards shouts before repeating the racial epithet over and over again.

While there is some audible chuckling in the audience throughout the outburst, someone can be heard gasping "Oh my God" and various people "0oh" after Richard uses the n-word.

Richards performed the next night at the Laugh Factory without incident.

Calls to Richards' representatives were not immediately returned early Monday.

He refused to comment on-camera when reached by CNN, but the network reported that he said off-camera he felt sorry for what had happened and had made amends.

How can you feel sorry for what happened when you clearly launch into such a verbal attack that seems to have went on for around a minute?

How do guys apologize for this kind of stuff? I mean, how do these kinds of remarks come out of your mouth? Your only sorry that you got caught, but you meant it. Same with Mel Gibson. These guys are racists, although Mel did the WHOLE song and dance of forgiveness at least. At least If I wanna give Mel a 2nd chance I can try to justify it based on him eating some bis slices of humble pie.

Kramer apologizes off camera? Yeah, you must be pretty sorry.

It's about Richards not Seinfeld.
Still it's bad but it's just about him.
I am not surprised as a lot of this Standout Comics stuff is pretty ruff and frankly white-trash/red-neck oriented.
If they are getting money this way they need to bring audience - and believe me this will double his tickets sales at some areas. But he will lose all intelligent listeners – good for his pocket and bad for his sole… But some people don’t care.
Sometimes people are so greedy that they stop thinking about hurting other people feelings.
I like South Park, Borat, mad TV, etc., but sometimes they are just going too far.

it is all about crowd control. i have been to a decent amount of comedy shows and they ALL have hecklers. however, the good comedians used that to their advantage. they call the heckler out and then it adds to the comedy without getting personal or racial. the disturbing thing is not just using the n-word multiple times but threatening to lynch is totally unacceptable and ignorant. that is more disturbing.

i almost feel bad for him after watching that. then I go back and watch the video of him at the comedy club and stop feeling bad for him
