it would be nice to see. Not to mention the fact that he's the kind of guy that will better fit with Curry/Frye (whoever plays center) anyhow.

I have a feeling Lee may get a bit exposed but he's certainly earned the right to be so. I would actually start Nate also. Our SL needs major energy

Start:
Marbury
Nate
Q
Lee
Curry (I hate to but while he and Isiah are here I'm just resigned to it)

Than feature Francis/Curry off the bench with Balkman/Crawford.

Hopefully playing against other team's 2nd units will get Francis straight.

I think the only reason he is not starting is that we do not want to totally destroy Frye's confidence. Other than that I can't see why he is starting at this point. He's being outplayed and we desperately need a rebounder next to Curry. I have no other explanation

wouldnt good coaching be talking to Frye and explaining its temporary to get him going? I have batted cleanup for 5 years for my team. I got bumped to 7 this year after a slow start. Man it pissed me off. I didnt talk about... I just played good team guy. I knew I deserved it also, because guys were hitting better then I was. I never really got right and overall had a bad year at the plate. But I still focused and pitched some great games, and we won. The move helped. I'm 33, maybe I'm mature than Frye... but please. He's a freakin pro. Deal with it and go toast some guys off the bench.

I'm of the belief that if somehting like that destroys your confidence than you are going to falter when the pressure is on anyway and I have no use for you. Better to find out now what Frye is made of than later when we really need him to perform. Lee has earned that starting position and it just makes sense. It makes more sense than it did last year and last year the board was in an outrage.

That being said, I do think this is why Isiah is not benching him. He needs to coddle to avoid losing guys.

isiah's trying too hard to be the anti-lb. he's stuck with the same starting 5 all year (sans francis injury). and that blows b/c his moves as a GM should not dictate what he does as a coach, but unfortunately, it's catch-22 with him. that's why that ultimatum was totally pointless and stupid.

EXACTLY!!!!!

Coddle = make a guy a bigger SISSY (with a P)

Go make yourself better. Go work harder. God forbid its not handed to you on a silver platter like everything else in life has.

I dont know Channing personally but he sure looks tough enough to handle a benching. He didnt retire after last year did he?

I love when you say he is going to get exposed. He is playing the last couple of 4th quarters when the best players are on the floor. You said he can hit free throws and he is hitting about 80% this year. Frye and Curry have been exposed and if he plays 35 minutes he will get 12 and 12 every night and take high percentage shots.

easy coach! I said "a bit exposed"
And honestly I think as big a part of that would be because of the guys he's playing with. When its Craw/Nate/Balk the ball moves around a lot more. Players move around a lot more. And you know as well as any that Lee is great in motion.

Playing with Curry, Marbury, Francis = a lot of standing around while those guys pound the ball. Disagree?

Do I think Lee is NBA starter material? He has done EVERYTHING any player could do to deserve a chance to prove us otherwise. I say yes.

I don't think lee being exposed is an awful thing. It's just the reality of going fromt he bench to full time starting. Your weaknesses AS WELL AS YOUR STRENGTHS come to the forefront. Your game is exposed. Why is this a bad thing?

Fishmike I think that's a good lineup, the knicks and Isiah need to have a pow wow and tell it like it is.

"Listen fellas my job is on the line I have to play the guys who mesh together and find out who is better suited aginst inferior talent(2nd units) as well.

I want to win now ! I know we have a lot of depth, but your play will determine what unit you will be assigned to.

When I get a letter from the Boss it gets me amped up to show him what I can do, on the other hand I can shrink back into a little corner and worry about my job.

You have to look at this from IT's point of view. He is stuck with Francis, Marbury, and Curry. If he sits any of those guys down, he is running a huge risk of creating a big problem in the locker room. Fyre is his gem from last year, who played well last year. IT hopes that Fyre can find his game and in some ways, moving Fyre to the bench would be sparing him. Right now, Fyre is facing the teams best PF and knows that Lee is outplaying him. Maybe IT is trying to see if Frye can raise his game given the pressure of starting. Moving him to the bench, while embarassing, actually relieves the pressure from Frye. Nate is not going to start because IT probably does not think that Francis could deal with a bench role and the only hope we have of trading Francis is the get him playing well. We move Francis to the bench, we are pretty much going to be stuck with him for the next three years b/c his value is going to plummet. IT's focus right now is getting the starters to play better and get us off to better starts. You then put in the second unit and let them take over the game. IT is probably going to stay the course for a few more games to see if the starters can click. After about 20 games or so, he will probably start making some changes if things still are not working.

I think it's too early to say that. He might be just trying to show Frye that he's not gonna give up on him after only 10 games. If Frye's still struggling and starting by game 25 or so, I'd think you were right.

I think he get exposed in 25 minutes a game. He is a second year player and he is learning. He has improved since last year and each game he is getting better. He is outplayed Curry and Frye and as long as he finishes game I dont care. I just think you have given Channing a chance and Curry and neither one has done anything to keep their job. They are both more talented than David but they dont help win games

King... 15/12 last night in 25 minutes. 8 offensive boards.

Talents a funny thing isnt it? Frye is longer and bigger. Frye has a more refined post game, a better jumper and more chances to be featured. Yet it seems to confuse him more than anything else right now. Meanwhile Lee know's his jumper is average. His post game is mostly based on quickness and being able to finish with both hands rather than a set of "moves." So he just focuses on attacking the glass and putting back point blank shots.

poof, he's giving you 10/9 about 4 offensive rebounds and shooting > 64% in 23 minutes.

There is no way that DLee shouldnt be starting. If hes in the game 35-40 min a night then theres no way we arent getting 15/11 a night from him. The good thing is that perhaps isiah is finally getting the hint that he may have to make some changes. I agree with what someone else posted here earlier,

Curry/Lee/Q/Nate/Marbury
Frye/Balkman/Fran/Craw

Curry has to start, although I swear the way that he looks I doubt hell ever have another good game again for the rest of his career. Francis will take coming off the bench much better than Marbury will, so be default he should come off the bench. Once JJ comes back Q can replace Blakman in the second unit. In a perfect world We can make a trade and clear the logjam at guard, but good luck with that Isiah.

But Lee needs to play as much as possible. He is the best knick on the team so far this season.

Why does starting Lee have to feature Frye getting benched?

Curry should be the one benched.

Frye is looking better and starting to get his shot back. Curry is still lost.
