Eddy Curry Line Update
The Eddy Curry Line was established to put a spotlight on how truly anemic Curry's overall fantasy line is. The standard: a player must average more turnovers than assists, steals, and blocks combined – in order to qualify, a player must have appeared in at least half of his team's games and averaged at least 20 minutes of playing time.

Curry has claimed his rightful place at the top of the leaderboard, thanks to a current five-game stretch in which he has accumulated 15 turnovers and five positive stats (three assists, one block, and one steal). In 10 games, he has 32 turnovers and 12 positive stats (six assists, two steals, and four blocks), a 0.38:1 ratio.

Jamaal Magloire has shown a nearly equal amount of statistical ineptitude so far this season. Through 10 games, he has 16 turnovers and eight good stats (one assist, six blocks, and one steal), a 0.50:1 ratio. Perhaps it's no coincidence that he's been replaced in the starting lineup by rookie LaMarcus Aldridge.

Maggette's role as a reserve has plunged him into the statistical abyss. In two games this past week, he had seven turnovers and just three positive stats (all assists). On the season, Maggette has 16 turnovers and nine positive stats (seven assists and two steals), a 0.56:1 ratio.

Rounding out the top ten are Shelden Williams (0.60:1), Erick Dampier (0.61:1), Matt Harpring (0.63:1), Shaquille O'Neal (0.64:1), Mark Blount (0.70:1), Shareef Abdur-Rahim (0.82:1), and Al Harrington (0.84:1).

Matt Buser is a Yahoo! Sports fantasy expert. Send Matt a question or comment for potential use in a future column or webcast.

They do this every week???

That's absolutely hysterical.

I can not believe there is a player out there that can actually accomplish that feat. More TO's than assists, blocks and steals combined?!?

Holy crap. You would think that it would favor guards, but centers average very few To's usually because they don't touch the ball alot.

Many of Curry's TO's come from attacking the Red Cape in the paint

He's stupid and has no sense of feel in the paint

Funny Story...my brother used to play basketball-this is when I lived in Poughkeepsie-I must have been about 14 or so at the time. It was a 10 yr olds league. There was this one kid on his team, tall skinny kid. Really awkward who played center but didn't know anything about the position.

I taught this kid to play center in the course of a couple months-he eventually was on the All-Star team, and his parents actually came up to me and personally thanked me for teaching this kid how to play and told me this kid was talking about quitting before I taught him.

Point of the story? If a 10 yr. old who is bigger than everyone else can learn to play center from a 5-7(at the time)Sicilian, in the course of a few months, how the hell can Eddy Curry still be so clueless?

Did that 10 year old have a large guaranteed contract and an army of chicks following him around?

Not that I noticed, but he did have homework and an allowance...does that count?

Not unless it robbed him of his motivation to succeed.

If it was a graduation year he would been on 'roids and played dirtier than Bruce Bowen on crack.

Sicilian huh? You probably just made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Its for fantasy basketball geeks. The way it ws posted is a bit deciving. The same geek has Shaq as the 25th best center last season
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I posted it last week with more of an intro. I disagree about it being deceiving. I think it highlights the fact that Curry doesn't rebound well for a starting center, turns the ball over, doesn't block shots, doesn't pass well. I don't think there is an argument to be made about his weaknesses that would make me see them as strengths or that it was deceiving because it was related to fantasy basketball. The point is that there is a weekly column about how bad the Knicks starting center is. It appears that it was in place at least last season also.

Exactly. The stat legitimately reflects that he's the worst passer in the league and pretty bad for a C at blocking shots (and getting steals)

It looks like Eddy will lead again next week. 4 turnovers, 4 personal fouls, 0 assists, 0 blocks, and 2 rebounds. At least he is consistent.
