So Francis gets an F but Curry gets a B? You aren't going into teaching are you?

I'll play along.

Coach Isiah Thomas-[C-] This team is still playing with the same faults it had wth Larry Brown although he has gotten the players to buy into his system-which saves his grade from a D-but his system doesn't quite fit his most important players-which keeps him from a solid C. He's trying too hard to prove the Curry trade was good at the expense of his first first round pick.

Renaldo Balkman-[B+] Still needs an offensive game, Very good defense and intensity. His lack of a repertoire on offense is keeping him from an A.

Kelvin Cato-[C] Hasn't taught Curry a damn thing about defense but apparentl has taught Channing a thing or two.

Mardy Collins-[Inc] Looks like Aaron Mckie.

Jamal Crawford-[D] Looks like he developed hid midrange a little more and plays D sometimes. One of the guys who looks great running but takes too many bad shots when the offense grinds down.

Eddy Curry-[D-] Had one dominating game. Other than that hasn't stood out offensively(which he's supposed to) and looks lost on defense and after the ball hits rim.

Steve Francis-[C+] Good early games, bad lately. He has been contributing in more areas than scoring which saves his grade a little.

Channing Frye-[C] This is a grade on the upswing. His new defensive fervor is making him alot more valuable than Curry's offensive potential.

Jerome James-[Inc] Needs to get conditioning back.

Jared Jeffries-[Inc]

David Lee-[A] White Cocoa is one of the NBA's best at rebounds per minute and is scoring alot with minimal plays being run for him. A good fit on ANY team in the NBA.

Stephon Marbury-[C+] At least he is controlling the offense better. We need a stronger personality than his to control this team and balance him out. I'll take 17 and 7 and the good defense he has been showing as of late. He does that I'll bump his grade to a B+.

Quentin Richardson-[A+] Best offensive and defensive player and is still outrebounding our starting PF and our starting center from a perimeter spot on the floor. He is a bulldog. IMO, should be named a captain and he can be a very nice ying to Marbury's yang.

Nate Robinson-[B]-Showing to be a 5-9 SG. Very good defense, great emotion. What brings down his grade alot is he has shown to be one dimensional and took almost 5 games before he handed out his first assist.

Malik Rose-[C] Average vet off the bench player every young team should have.

Coach Isiah Thomas: F - failed to recognize the obvious.

Renaldo Balkman: A - comes prepared has had an impact, good contributor off the bench

Kelvin Cato - I
Mardy Collins - I

Jamal Crawford - C dubious shot selection, but spark off bench has produced at times.

Eddy Curry - F (for Fat). Not in shape and its hurting his game and the team

Steve Francis - C is playing hard but being asked to do things he's not comfortable with and its showing

Channing Frye - C not his fault he's playing out of position. Continues to work hard and play hard despite struggles.

Jerome James - F failure to show up in shape has kept him on the shelf

Jared Jeffries - I

David Lee - A clearly a bright spot

Stephon Marbury - C has tried but is really struggling to do what Larry Isiah is asking him to do (being a facilitator PG)

Quentin Richardson - A Great defense, great on the boards, scoring in bunches

Nate Robinson - A has played more under control, better defensively and has the highest +/- on the team

Malik Rose - B contributed nicely in small spurts.

Coach Isiah Thomas C-:Needs to stop playing politics and change the lineups

Renaldo Balkman B: Exceeding expectations but must continue to progress.
Kelvin Cato C: Whatever
Mardy Collins : C Havent seen too much of him to make a accurate grade.
Jamal Crawford B: Holding the knicks offense on his shoulders at times.
Eddy Curry F: No improvement and like 8 bad games in a row.
Steve Francis C+: playing better as of late
Channing Frye C+: Slow start but playing better
Jerome James N/A: Whatever
Jared Jeffries N/A:
David Lee A+: A true beast
Stephon Marbury C: Defering and fading in the process
Quentin Richardson B+: Has cooled off a little bit but great start
Nate Robinson A: The little guy is a beast
Malik Rose B-: Good D and hustle but stop trying to post up.

from Nate's blog:
We’ve been real busy trying to win as many games as we possibly can. We should have won more of them. I mean, we could have a 9-1 record. We’re working at getting in sync with each other. We’re trying to adjust to that and to each other. We’re definitely playing better than we did last year. It’s just going to take some time.

Pretty much all of our games have been close, unlike last season. This year we’re not getting blown out by anybody.

So if I had to give our team a report card so far, here’s how I’d grade it:

I’d give us an A+ for our effort for sure. For our togetherness, I’d give us an A. For execution I’d give us a C+. We definitely need to execute better. Overall I think we probably deserve a B-. There is room for improvement, for sure.
We have a lot of home games in December, and we’re just looking at each game at a time. Hopefully, we can get an A by the All-Star break.

Coach Isiah says we can always play better. We’ve been finishing games pretty strong for the most part, but starting slow, and he wants us to have that intensity from the start.

I think we’re going to be a good team down the stretch. We’ll make the playoffs as long as we play hard. We’ll win a lot more games than people think we will.

dude... Knicks were 4-7 when this came out. Yea, I guess you could say there's room for improvement. I hope he's just trying to stay positive.
