All right fella's, i got one for ya.....

i was thinking about the top 2 guards in the league so i decided to make a list of my personal top 10. well, 10 wasn't enough so i decided to list my top 2 and 3's because of players like Pierce, Mcgrady, Stojak. MJ and Spree who are a mix between the two. Anyway, I am posting because the one thing that really suprised me was that 15 of my top 20 play in the EASTERN conference. With the disparity between the two confreneces, i was a little suprised. obviously the west has the majority of the dominant big men, but the east has a monopoly on the little fellas....anyway, here is my list, comments and feedback as well as your lists are encouraged. my mindset was who i would like to have on my team RIGHT NOW, THIS YEAR. age was not a factor since i was thinking in the now, although injury and health were. (explains the drop for odom).

1. Kobe
2. T-Mac
3. Pierce
4. Ray Allen
5. A.I.
6. Vince Carter
7. Finley
8. His Airness
9. Stack
10. Allan Houston (yes, i think he is top 10, but i may be biased. go ahead and kill me for it)
11. Edie Jones (love his "D")
12. Jalen Rose
13. Rip Hamilton
14. Spree
15. Odom (should be higher (not literally) but cant stay healthy)
16. Glen Robinson
17. Mash
18. Ricky Davis
19. J. Richardson
20. Stojak

just missed: Reggie Miller, Wally Szerbiak, Grant Hill, Ron Artest

Mash should be higher on the list IMO. Odom is nice but shouldn't be on the list just for the fact he hasn't played this year.

I'd switch # 1 and 2

I would swith the 1 and 2 plus lower Vince Carter in the list. I think he has peaked and hit a down turn in his career. I would also put AI above Ray Allen. I would also take Odoms out of the list simply because he hasn't played this year.

Call me a little biased because I like the Kings, but I would rate Peja better then Carter. At least I would rather have him on my team then Vince. I definitely agree that he has peaked and is goind downhill. I always though Jameson had more talent anyway and it is starting to show. The only reason I wouldnt switch Kobe and T-Mac is only one of them has rings, and he has them three times over. Granted a big fella named Shaq has helped - but T-Mac hasnt led his team anywhere close to the promise land yet.

i do like stojak, but he seems to be a little one dimensional. great scorer, but not much else.......and kobe is better that t-mac, no matter what y'all say. t-mac has no "d", kobe is a better all around player. i love t-mac's game, but kobe is the man right now.

I agree, Kobe is the man now. Artest is top 15, if you like Eddie Jones' "D", then Artest should be higher then him, because Artest is the best defender in the league. I don't think Odom has done anything to warrant his being at 15, so I'd put Ricky Davis over him since Ricky has done something to say that he belongs. And Cuttino Mobley should be on the honorable mention list. Solid list though with the 1 to 10.

you are probably right about odom.....but when he is healthy i love what he does. so smooth and versatille, but i guess you actually have to be on the floor first. i love artest, i think he still is a bit limited in many aspects of the game. soon he will be right up there.....i forgot about mobley.....although i dont think he belongs here. to sporoadic and inconsistent

I agree, I would take Richardson, Davis, and Artest any day of the week over Spree.

If Spree goes, Houston goes. Main reason? Houston always lets his man score too many points.

If the list is 2g's I'd build a team around, I'd build around TMAC over Kobe any day. I'm not talking about the team's record, just the player. I also dig the fact that Tracy is a bit (a bit) less hype-centric and also taller. I could put him at the permanent 3 spot and he'd still wax the league. Defense? Even D is easier when you have am imtimidator like Shaquille on the squad. EVERYTHING gets exponentially easier for you. Kobe's a great player, but in a world without Shaq, the only thimg that would give me pause is Tracy's back - (fear of LJ.)

I also live in LA half the year, so perhaps I'm overexposed to KB.

where do shawn marion, pau gasol, and rashard lewis fit in??? They not good enough or you consider all of them 4's?

If bron bron was in the league right now... where does he go?? I would take him over rickey davis right now.

ya, i left those guys (as well as a. jamison) off the list because i viewed them as more 3/4's instead of 2/3's. but they are nasty and would be on the list otherwise.......

i thought of him as more in the 3/4 category. i tried to keep the lisst limited to guys hwo play 2 or 3, more perimeter oriented. if not i may have well just listed the best players regardless of position. my main motivation was to see where exactly i thought allan and spree belonged...

i like the list, i agree with most of what you posted. i think jamison should be included, he does not really play 4 at all. but other than that, i agree with you list. kobe is better than t-mac
