Maybe if he can shed some more pounds and get himself into better shape he'll contribute something positive this season. Had some nice offensive moves tonight.

Everybody has been giving me the business about my Channing Frye prediction, don't forget my "Jerome James Will Be Good" thread!

If he can play, he will be productive. And isn't it nice to have a guy out there who f@cks people up on every play?

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Big Snacks!!!!! I knew he could do it. How big does he look around the waistline? Oliver Miller with less talent.
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

Jerome looked fatter than ever. Still that dudes presence was felt. His role and what he can bring was also very clear when he was out there.

What the hell was last year about? I just don't understand it. Last year was just an absolute nightmare. Its like night and day, man.

I don't even want to try to understand it but its just good to see kick ass knicks basketball again. With basically the same group from the worst season the knicks had.

Ooh ah, yes it is damn good to have our hitman back!

Go knicks!

last night is what you hope to get from Jerome, and thats his career in a nutshell. He usually plays about 55 games a year. Of those about 30 are garbage (more fouls than points.. see last year). But you will see Jerome 15-20 games a year come in, use his size and have an impact on the game.

I think he could still be a very good center (top 10) if he truly dedicated himself to basketball and conditioning. That's obviously not gonna happen, though.

Definitely couldn't happen at this point. He's already 30 and doesn't have the skill set on either end to be a good basketball player. Funny how Jerome activists argued so hard when he signed.

If JJ can come in and give us what he gave us last night every time out, I will be more than satisfied. Get in the game, take up space, rebound, block a shot here or there, even foul a guy or two, that's fine with me. Heck, he can go in the game against Yao Ming on Monday and just beat on Yao. That would be perfect. Yao doesn't like to be beat up on, maybe take Yao out of his game...

He still sucks guys. Don't be fooled by a 14 minute stretch where he scored 9 points & grabbed 3 rebounds (whoopdy freakin doo) & hit all 4 shots he took against a Shaq-less Miami team.

More often than not, he's going to have games like the one he played against BOS where he scored 4 points, 0 rebounds & 2 quick fouls in 7 minutes because he's too out of shape & slow to stay on the floor against the more athletic teams in the NBA nowadays.

i'm almost guaranteeing you all that he will not exceed his career 5 & 3 #'s by much if at all by the end of this season. if he does i'll be the first one to admit how wrong i was about him.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I agree with TMS. JJ didn't show anything from the offseason (losing fat, gaining muscle) to lead me to think his attitude has changed. He just had a good ten min stretch against 2nd/3rd string centers. Who was gaurding him in Miami. Was it Doleac?
