From today's NY Post (which I have to remind myself is known as a "tabloid" and not a "newspaper"):
"As their big free-agent catch, Doleac has been a complete bust."
Uh, big catch? Since when? Someone needs to remind Berman that A) Doleac was chosen as a BACKUP center, and that we don't actually have a real starting one, and B) Doleac is getting the very inexpensive 1mil. exception, unlike the other bums like Spoon, Anderson, Eisley, and Knight. And Marc should point out that Harrington shot 0-5 from the field last night and got eaten alive by Walker.
Yes, Doleac is a scrub, but we all knew that, and he's getting paid as a scrub. If he plays well, it's a pleasant surprise.
It's the guys getting paid like All-Stars, stinking it up night after Knight who deserve the criticism, not the guy getting paid what he's really worth. Anyone who thought Doleac was supposed to turn this crappy team around has his head up his ass.
Berman should write an article wondering why Ward played well a few years ago when his contract was up, then played like a bum ever since, instead bringing a preacher into his workplace and trying to convert his co-workers to his religion. Maybe Marcy Marc should write about Houston, who gets paid as one of the league's top players, but isn't even one of the top 10 shooting guards ("guard", yeah that's funny, did anyone see him "guard" Pierce last night? I sure didn't.)
Doleac is the least of the Knicks' problems. At least he's better than Knight.
