I'm not a fan, but do you think the Marbury hate would be less drastic if he didn't declare himself the best pg in the NBA?

Sure it has something to do with his .317 winning percentage as a Knick, but it seems to me he always gets everyone's negativity, because of this statement and his false sense of who he is........

Crawford kills the team more, and always gets some sort of credit because he is on the court when good things happen partly because IT has nate/lee uping the energy level.....

Or is it his association with Isiah (the better dressed, outgoing version of Layden)and what the two of the represent, the death of the knicks as we know it"

if Marbury wasn't so arrogant & surly, then of course he'd get less flack from Knick fans. Patrick Ewing got the same type of treatment w/his surly attitude towards the media & the fans, & his guarantees of winning a championship. when you put yourself on the line like that, you better deliver. in patrick's case, at least he brought this team to many years of playoffs & almost won them a championship... you can't pronounce yourself the best PG in the game without proving it on the floor. people are not going to let stuff like that slide.

if Marbury were more humble & tried to be a leader on this team by playing tough defense night in & night out & being an example for the young kids to follow, then i'd actually like the guy... it's not about his production w/me, it's all about his attitude & his unwillingness to take accountability for his own failures on the floor.

Thats stupid i never had a problem with him saying that I think it was a GOOD thing that he had confidence in himself and he believed he was the best pG in the league.. **** i hope he believes that hes the best PLAYER in the league.. The point is - you got to ACT like it.

My #1 beef with marbury is simply his body language and attitute on the court... He seems like just a little cry baby bitch all the time sulking and dropping his head looking frustrated like a pampered baby... thats my #1 prob..

My aunt who didnt know Marbury from Mr Magoo had Marbury and his "posse" visit her classroom years ago. She is a teacher in Brooklyn. She said he acted like a thug and was completly disrespectful on that day to everyone around. She said her school would never invite him again. I hope he has grown up since then. I liked him back then but my aunt who is the fairest woman I have ever known had a much clearer idea of who he was then I did based on that day. Maybe he has matured since then. I do not know

I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

i don't hate him. that is a strong word. but i dislike him for many reasons. one big reason is not because he proclaim to be the best pg in the league and not back it up. but it is his potential to be one and not doing it that frustrates me. the countless excuses are tiring. "he has no talent around him" or "everyone is injured". those are some of the things you can say about most of the point guards in the league. he needs to man up, take responsibility and show that he is a winner. he has all of that talent ( though i think he is wearing down) but does nothing productive with it.

Its hard to find too many that really like him.

Coaches, ex teammates, and fans in cities.

Nobody doubts his talent, its a host of reasons that add up.

As long as you dont look at marbury as the superstar you wont be dissapointed. If he runs the offense well, doesnt have TOs, and plays some D im happy. We have a deep team now. We dont need Starbury the Superstar, we need Marbury the point guard. And dont get gassed by thinking Marbury cant be a good PG.

let me ask you, honestly, do you think the team is better when Marbury is running the point, or when Jamal or Nate are running the point?

I hate him b/c he's not a point guard and makes those around him worse.

I dont think that Crawford or Nate can run the point any better than Marbury. Crawford shows flashes of good distribution but I remember him butchering it as the point the last few years with ny/chicago. Jamal is a SG. Nate as the PG? You know that aint happening. Nates strength is scoring, not ball distribution. And whats his a/to ratio this year? 9/13 or something?

I'm not asking you who you think is a better PG... i'm asking you if you think the team is better when Marbury is running the point or when 1 of those guys are.

I'm not sure if you guys heard Stephen A today but this guy I think truly hates Steph.

He was just having a conniption today - ranting and screaming over his recent quote about not being aggressive b/c he had to get everyone involved and him being on Kidd's or Parker's level. So much so, he yelled at and hung up on anyone that tried to defend him.

It was an... interesting thing to listen to.

Judging from the first 9 games, id say that except for 2-3 games I would be better running the point. But if Marbury is playing average ball, playing the way he played yesterday, id rather have Marbury running the point than anybody on our team.

Marbury's far better than Crawford and a little better than Francis. Public speaking skills are the only reason people like Jamal and hate Steph.

Steven A has the exact same feelings on Marbury as many of us do... he realizes Stephon has all the talent in the world, but his heart & his head are the problems... he's said time & time again that he likes Stephon as a person & wishes he would stop w/the excuses & start being a leader for this team like he's capable of if he ever gets his head screwed on right.

it's not a question of who the better player is for me... it's a question of who gels better w/their teammates & the overall quality of play the team demonstrates when they're on the floor as opposed to the other... i've watched every minute of basketball this team has played this season, & so far except for game 1 in Memphis where Marbury played a very efficient game & controlled the flow of the game & that 3 minute spurt in the 4th quarter vs. San Antonio when he got hot w/his jumpshot, this team has consistently looked its best when he & Francis were not on the floor... i think the team as a whole is better when those guys aren't playing... just my own personal observation.
