I only got a chance to see the first qrt. Just saw the score and this is the most promising thing I can gather from the victory. I hope this is because the team played solid defense vs Washington's offense being lackluster and off as the game progressed.

Yeah the Knicks actually did play solid D. They made the Wiz work for their points. They had a few mistakes in coverage, but overall they actually played really hard on D and that kind of kept the Wiz from every getting comfortable of hyped up. I think they looked a little flat, but with our team that doesn't mean much, cuz you KNOW the Wiz can heat up in a second.
The Guards actually got hands up. Q defended well against Butler and Frye actually held his own against Jamison when he defended him. Arenas had to get most of his shots from the foul line, which is a good sign, cuz that meant that our guards were actually trying to defend and sometimes fouling him. Arenas had to work for his shots. Basically it was the 1st solid defensive game for the Knicks. Frye and Curry actually blocking shots and Lee and Balkman doing the same. Great rebounding too.
