Can anyone explain the point? How stupid would it be for a nba player to go somewhere to eat with a coupon?

I think they typically give that stuff away to clubhouse people, ball boys and people around the team who do the dirty work.

It's a plug for the restaurant...but I doubt the players actually show up...Fans will show up thinking the players eat there...I think those freebies are given away like Isles says..

This has been going on for decades in all sports, its a $100 gift certificate to get their name mentioned on TV and some of the above noted reasons - you're jsut noticing this?

I don't see what the big deal is? The player is rich so there's no point in giving them a gift certificate? That's the worst logic I've ever heard.
