"He's trying to fit in too much," Francis said following Cleveland 102-96 victory. "I've been in that situation. He's trying to overdo it. Over fit in. Can I say that? You want to help your teammates but then again you got to do what you do. He's kind of going away from it so I'm going to have a talk with him. He's got to be more aggressive."

BUt, does the "Starbury" game condusive to winning?

If he stops trying to "fit in" he then goes off on his own old ways which pads the stat line, but does not yield much more to winning.

Fran needs to let Isiah worry about him. He needs to figure out how to fit in himself.

Great team huh?

The bottom line is Steph has no idea how to actually play the game. He is a great talent that can play one on one and kill you. But when it comes to the finer things he just doesn't get it. He doesn't know the difference between shooting all the time, not shooting and doing what it takes to win. In his mind you either shoot or you become an expensive dribble renewer. He doesn't know how to recognize when to take over a game and when to let your teammates go. When he needs to come out with fire and take shots early and when to take a step back and let his teammates score early and wait for the game to come to him. It's shoot or do nothing with him.

Why is Marbs having such a hard time with this? Is it because he's a horrible person? No. It's because coaches have always let him do whatever he wanted instead of teaching him. And when he had coaches that tried to teach him he wondered why they wouldn't let him do whatever he wanted and instead didn't listen. When you've never won you must listen to winners. His ego has been too big and now he doesn't know what to do.

Same exact thing goes with Francis Bip. There are times we desperately need a leader (Especially with Craw struggling), in terms of your best player being a leader, and Marbury just hasn't provided that. Waste of talent.

What about the whole Joy thing? I thought that was key.

Maybe we need to bring mimes and circus clowns to entertain Marbs before the game.

Steph will be just fine. I think like anyone else he's trying to find a balance to his game on this team. In the past he's played 100% aggressive and at times that wasn't the right thing to do. Now he's been CLEARLY defering to his teammates and sometimes he's done that to a fault. I think he'll eventually find a nice balance. I think Francis will too. 8 games doesn't make a season and things can turn around VERY quickly in the NBA. Overall I think these players are gaining very useful experience. They're starting to see more clearly what needs to be fixed. It's smaller things now as opposed to big problems.

Thanks for letting us in on that Isiah.

Very good post.
This was so evident in the Cavs game.
You just explained why LeBron is great - understanding the game and the players around him. And than comes the joy. He was just a happy person doing what he likes to do. He was even happy for Nate having a great game.

And Steve, Steph, and Curry don’t need mimes and circus clowns. They are a group of mimes and circus clowns themselves. Only fat J is missing

what is the excuse on the defensive end?????

ok, he is trying to hard to give it up for players on the offensive end.

Fine.

What about fighting over a screen or pick on defense.

Has Marbury ever gotten over a screen? Does anyone here recall seeing him do it?

Exactly Nixluva. He doesn't know what to do. He's almost 30 years old and he is finally deciding it's time to try to balance his game. But after 10 years of bad habits he's having a hard time finding that balance. Not saying he can't learn, just wondering what took him so long to try. Oh yeah, that's right, in the past he had bad teammates
