Until Jeffries comes back. Tell him to concentrate on defense, rebounds and putbacks. Do not run any offense thru him. I would have said start Balkman or Lee but I like the energy they bring to the 2nd unit. With the limited minutes that Frye is playing, he needs to come off the bench.

What other options do they have? Balkman, Lee and Nate are the main reason that we haven't been blown out in every loss. If they start Balkman or Lee, they mess with the chemistry of the 2nd unit. Of course Frye is the future and has more talent but until he comes around, he is a liability. At least Malik will play defense and get you some rebounds. Frye is letting his shooting woes effect every aspect of his game.

Travla, rose should start but the knicks might as well tank the season now if they do.

We have to get someone that his better than lee to start. Lee is more effective in short minutes. I don't want to blow lee out forcing him to play 35 mins a night.

I'm giving up on frye totally and its an all time low to want rose to start but the knicks need someone better than frye and rose is better than frye. Can the knicks ride this out and hope frye improves throughout the year or next year? NO!

Bottom line if the knicks have to start rose that will kill fryes trading value. I say trade him now and try to get someone better and that monster in Portland is ripe for the taking. Channing and rose for zach works. Let's get it done!

I'm not sure I wanna get rid of Frye just yet but if something good comes along.... I really would like Boozer the bruiser on this team, we need some toughness up front.

Looking at the +- ratings for the Knicks players at 82games (if you believe in that) Malik is the active player with the best rating followed by Q. This is consistent with the fact that they play defense. The worst ratings belong to Marbury and Frye who don't play defense.

If Rose played too many minutes he would be exposed.

I'm not talking 35 to 40 mins a game, I'm talking about 18 to 25 depending on his play, Fryes re-emergence or when Jeffries is ready. Balkman and Lee aren't ready for extended minutes, they have their energy level because of limited minutes. Malik is not afraid to get rough and tumble, we need some of that. I just don't Malik taking jumpshots!! Frye only wants to jumpshoot, he doesn't want to mix it up inside, if he did he'd be scoring more.

Malik should start alongside Curry. We need Malik's toughness, experience and old school mentality in order to get this team in sync defensively.

ALso, i think by starting MAlik @ the 4, all it will do is help Curry's game and take a load off his shoulders.

I think that's why Curry was doing well in chicago. He had Chandler doing all the dirty work on defense enabling him to explode on offense..

Starting might be a good idea because it would allow IT to sit Frye and put him in the second unit where he probably belongs at the moment. Plus, Rose is playing solid defense and will rebound. The move will probably allow us to get off to better starts. I, however, would not give Rose more than 18-20 minutes a game. Any more than 20 minutes and he will start having Tim Duncan fantasies and start trying to post people up.

I like Lee a lot and feel his rebounding is light years ahead of Frye, but I don't think Lee or Frye are ANYwhere near the team defender and leader on D that Malik is. Lee would get exposed next to Curry.

But Malik isn't a good rebounder and is undersized. I agree with getting Malik time, especially next to Curry, but I think Lee needs to learn and is a better player all around than Malik. I think my only argument is more with the minutes. If you start Malik but Lee starter's minutes, I'd be cool with it. I just think Lee earned the right to start. Malik is a great bench player though and should get more time.

I don't see a problem with starting him for the first few minutes of the game and seeing where his defense is at and playing lee behind him, since david should get 25 minutes a night, and give frye the minutes behind eddy
