This isnt a slump--going back to last year this is just how he is after other teams figured him out.

What if we moved him to the bench, focused on getting him 25-30 minutes a night where he's the focus of the offense when Curry's out and pumping up his numbers. QRich is having a great start and his value cant be higher. Come Dec 15th when guys can get traded look to move QRich and Frye to Denver for Joe Smith (expiring deal), Reggie Evans and Denvers two first rounder (the have an extra from Memphis via the Skita trade)

Patience Briggs, patience. Although Frye isn't very good now, he will definitely be great, because Isiah picked him.

Despite the poor rebounding, lackluster defense, lack of an inside game and now a jumper that isn't even falling, really, I'm sure he will turn it around.

What's really a shame is that I don't think we could get Odom or anyone close for him now. Last year, we could've.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I think Frye's value is still pretty high. We can probably get a much better player than Evans(ie. Josh Smith, an Amare Stoudemire in a package including Frye) for a 6-11 PF/C that showed promise last year.

I don't think Frye's value is that high. though PHX may have interest in him. not for any of their core though.

I don't think that is such a bad trade- Evans is solid NBA forward. Smith saves us so money and 2 first rounders-

What kind of protection, I wonder, does the Memphis pick have- if its this year, it might be good.

Still- I think Frye will come through. I think he showed talent last year- teams can't take away another players ability to hit an open 18 ftr- its a matter of this team generating open looks for him, and him having the confidence to knock them down.

I'm not so sure that its because other teams have figured him out.

He's still getting a lot of good looks but his shots aren't falling at all. Personally, I think a lot of it is mental.

His D on the other hand, thats always been pretty bad.

His offense is definitely better than this though.

Frye is better than what he's showing. I know Isiah is trying to show faith in him by leaving him in the starting lineup, but I don't think it's helping, I think it's probably making it worse for Frye.

Start DLee. We need his passing, defense and passion in the starting lineup.

show faith by starting him and then benching him in the 2nd half? i don't think that's showing faith.

I believe that is what Isiah did to the guy he recently bought out.

I'm pretty sure Channing is gonna come around and play much better, but regardless, his weaknesses are being severely exposed and they don't look that easy to fix. The scary part is he says he's 100% healthy and he also said he only gained like 5 lbs, as opposed to what everyone else thought (Much more). So whoever said he's adjusting to his "New body" was full of crap. That's not even an excuse in the NBA. If Isiah is just gonna start him for a certain amount of time in the first half and then never see him again, then why don't we trade him while his value is still high?

Frye is becoming usless on the defensive and offensive end. He is lost on defensive rotations. I don't know if Frye is playing is playing defense or playing pocket pool.

Thing I hate most in the NBA: Big players who don't play a big man's game. Frye needs to realize that if he's going to have an impact long term in the league, he needs to focus on scoring in the post. If he finds himself open with the ball and 18ft from the basket, then go ahead and shoot it. But don't look for that. Look to get down low and sink a 4-footer. Once he focuses on scoring from in close, his nice outside touch will really be an asset.
With his current mindset and the shot not falling, he is a total disaster. Remember Frye, you're defense is so bad that you need to be a strong plus on the offense to justify your presence on the floor.
And yes, it is obvious that he is mentally struggling, and that is troubling. Go out there and have fun. You're a good player.

Its not about his shot falling. its about him playing the game like a man. So what his shot isn't falling. He still has to hold down his position and have a pressence inside. Frye is not strong or physical enough, or skilled enough to be an option in the post. The guy has no face up move or a turn around jumper. Just because he can shoot a hook with either had doesn't mean he can be an option.

Frye can't hold on to rebounds. He doesn't battle for boards and he gets abused any whoever is guarding him.

This is not isiah or anything else. This is frye. Frye is a *****. He has potential but the knicks can replace frye right now with anybody. David lee should be starting but no way do we bench frye. We have to trade him before we do that. If he's benched the knicks lose a lot of his value.

Portland is a young team that would probably overpay to get frye to grow with Roy, Webster and the rest. Yes, the knicks need zach Randolph. I am praying for it cuz everything that you guys want from frye zach does it hands down. Knicks need to makethe trade now!

after 7 games, 7 more pre-season and dating back to many more games in the 2nd half of channings year last year--have we come to a point that says we may have over-rated him a tad? Does anyone know Charles Smith avg 21-10 52% 1.5 blocks in his second year with the clips ? when you sck this bad, it portends poor long-term result. There is still a value to channing, no doubt about it--maybe new scenery would do him well and we can go more hardcore at the 4?
