Aside from Q Rich our starting lineup has given us nothing positive.

Curry got eaten alive by Ming. I couldnt stand to watch the player we should "build our future around" get tortured or torched anymore. I understand that Ming is much better than Curry, but what stops Curry from playing hard defense like Balkman did. I would consider benching Curry if he continues to play defense like that. His turnovers outweigh his assists and block shots. That does not cut it. CURRY IS NOTHING MORE THAN A ROLE PLAYER until he prooves otherwise on a consistant basis. We have to stop featuring him in the offense. Like another poster said he is good for open stuffs and running the break. Thats it. I cant watch

Q Rich plays hard every night; with solid in your face defense and by letting the offense work for him. IMO he is the only player who deserves his spot in the starting rotation.

Marbury played OK... but did not turn it on until the end of the game. He is not the best PG, and will never be a Franchise player or a leader. His defense stinks and will apparently never turn around. Playing some D in the 4th quarter but not playing in the first 3 quarters

I'm glad Crawford has the balls to take the last second shots but to me that relates to his fascination with chucking away. Crawford hasnt taken us anywhere. I am not impressed.

The only players I see giving all out effort all game are Q Rich, Balkman.. f..ken great Defense tonight (IT should have left him in game), Nate who always seems to play hard and D Lee.

The faster we get rid of the rest of the team is the faster we will be successful. The faster you guys who dont agree with me realize that.. then the faster we will drink unpoisoned Kool-Aid. Why should we keep sticking with a bunch of players with low Basketball IQ who dont give it their all and lack hustle and defense. Our former 12th man Anthony Bonner and Herb Williams used to give a million times more substance, and defense than these scrubs. I want this team gone ASAP aside from the 4 players I named above and perhaps Jeffries (we will see). This notion might seem crazy.

What is really crazy is that Marbs, Curry, Frye, Craw, Stevie, will never go all out and will never be any good on defense. They will never change. They are set for life $$$... therefore why should they change. Is winning really that important for them. I am waiting day by day year by year for them to proove me wrong.

Also Nalod mentioned that IT appears aware that he is scewed. I have noticed the same thing. IT is all about power based on his name, playing days. From what I see, he is kissing all these guys asses in order for them to respect him. His charming personality and words are going to equate to how many W's? All an Act.

Calling plays now...What happened to the first couple games?

Good post man. I agree, our starting lineup was absolutely horrific tonight. The bench is severely outplaying the starting lineup it's not even funny. Lee, Nate, Crawford are all playing better then every single player in the starting lineup. The sad part is that Francis will get his job back as soon as he's healthy and he wasn't doing anything before he got hurt.

I can't wait for this team to be blown up when a new GM comes in for Isiah around December.

I think we need to let Frye come of the bench to get his confidence back against the second unit. Start Lee, or maybe Rose if you are afraid Lee will get exposed at PF due to his lack of size, and work Frye back into the starting lineup once he gets his mojo back.

We might want to start Balkman at the 3 and move Q to the 2, just to give us some extra energy out of the gate. But don't play Balk starter minutes, just use him to jumpstart the team.

With Nate and Craw coming of the bench the second unit woudl still bring it.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Thanks.

However the starting lineup is horrific every night, not just tonight.

How many games in a row must we give up 100 pts, be down double figures in the 1st quarter to then have our bench rescue us back to making it a close game and then loose it in the last couple of minutes. That is heartbreaking for any Knick fan. Reminds me a lot of previous seasons.

I hope our bench is not only playing like this to get a fat contract a couple of years from now. Hopefully Nate, Lee, Balk continue to play their hearts out over their whole career's. I thought that what the NBA was about? I guess it used to be about heart and passion. The NBA has become watered down and the rules are making it worse. I will post soon about this and try to get everyone's opinion.

Start over and pick our players WISELY. Think about our decisions. No other GM can pull the **it trades that IT has conducted and still have a job. No point in having Baker, Taylor, Norris, Rose, Francis, James. All a waste of cap space and time. Unfortunately I can say the same for Marbury, Craw, and Curry . I didnt know multi million dollar contracts means you should play no defense and have no heart or passion for your team. This is 48 minutes of basketball. It's not torture.

What happened to guarding the opposing PG from endline to endline? What happen to putting a hand up when a player shoots a freaking jumpshot?

I love rainbows, and the gorgeous sight and scent of flowers but I would trade this team for a couple of cheesedoodles and a grain of rice.

Bring back Harper, Starks, Ewing, Oak, Mase from Retirement.
We have been destroying the NYK's tradition and pride since the turn of the millenium.

Should all of the teams off to a slow start this year, purge their teams of all of the players not yet playing well? How can anyone truly believe 6 games is enough time to accurately evaluate the Knicks roster. Any player that hasn't made valuable contributions to the team regularly in the first 6 games, should be gone?

Channing Frye showed plenty of potential last year. What happens if he is having trouble adjusting to his new body, and working on his new roles on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Also, to quote Mike Ditka, Lombardi didn't really change a player's game, as much as he adjusted a player's attitudes. Attitude adjustments to a team mentality require considerable patience. One needs to keep working with players have considerable upside, until you find out whether or not they can put the team first. That process takes alot more than 6 games unfortunately. So pull up a chair, and please consider not pulling the trigger so fast on players with demonstrated talent that haven't yet successfully figured out their roles on this team.

I would bench Curry. Marbury is working on becoming better.

When Francis is back, he might be best of the bench

start

Marbury & Crawford in the back court

Q, Lee & Frye up front.

Bench- Curry, Francis, Balkman & Nate

Everyone talks about how deep we are- the truth is, we have 12 ok/decent players, but lack five guys that are stand out and clear cut starters.

Our starters and bench are equal talent and I am not sure there are five that can start that won't get outplayed.

But, the key thing the starting five lacks is fire and desire- having lee and crawford would help.

isiah has benched frye 3 games in a row now in the 2nd half so isiah sees a problem there.
curry is the same player he always was.

if this continues with those two, we're cooked.

The reason we get down 10 in the first 4 minutes everynight is simple:

Our Starting Frontcourt.

When we put in Lee/Balk/Malik or my mother, we have a fighting chance... Curry/Frye play no inside D, they get abused like crazy down there. Frye and Curry cannot both start, PERIOD

Channing has 5 blocks this season (average of .8 per) while Curry has 3 blocks for the season(average of .5). Curry is averaging more than 2 rebounds and 10 points per game more than Frye. Frye and Curry have sucked so far, but I don't think Frye's .3 more blocks is enough to warrant him starting over Curry who is bringing alot more to the table.

Curry has been totally featured, which I think is a mistake as I believe he should be getting his points from the flow, ont as the focus, which stagnates the offense.

Frye has also been drawing about 1 charge a game. The fact that Curry is only averaging 2 rebounds moe per game while Frye has been abysmal on offense doesn't excite me.

Frye's man-to-man D is not so great but it isn't as bad as Curry's who is like a mailbox on D. I see more of Frye trying to protect the basket and he has moved his feet enough to draw some charges as well.

if curry ends up being a guy that just gets his points in the "flow" instead of being featured, then this will be one of the worst trades in a while. it's like we paid two #1's for antawn jamison and curry ain't as good as him.

Off the metter, you are crazy about Marbury and are making comments from memory about marbury. He had about 11 points on 3 shots in the first quarter last night.

I don't think crawford is chucky as you guys say, but I do notice that the offense breaks don into one on one play lot. Crawford did it, marbury did it, the Fan favorite Q did with a couple of crossovers and step back jumpers........ I Also think curry needs to play with an defensive Forward. Bench Fry and let him plaay with Nate off the bench.

I really don't care about how we can rate the trade or trash Isiah because of it. The trade is made. What I want to do is utilize Curry most effectively for himself and the team.

I wouldn't place curry on the bench. Curry has it difficult out there because of the refs. They won't let him play and if he make any defensive movement out there he get called for a foul. Be honest with you guys half the time I don't see the foul, he does the same things out there that Shaq get away with. Frye should be on the bench. I'm sick of his outside shooting way if I wanted my PF to play like a sf I would put a sf out there. Start Lee in his place he seems more comfortable out there and he is doing the little things out there. Frye is to much in love with his weak jumper. He isn't even cutting to the basket and when he has a layup he manages to blow it. He isn't playing like a 6'11'' player he is playing very small out there.

Lee allows the KNicks to start with energy I think that is one of the problems out there is the Knicks slow starts. Isiah has to make an adjustment.

We can micro-analyze drawn charges or whatever. Fact is the lesser of two evils is Curry. Curry gives us something we need in the starting lineup (a legit post threat on offense).

Now don't misunderstand-I personally don't believe either of them should be starting. I wouldn't mind seeing a starting lineup of Lee at Center, Balkman at PF(until Jefferies comes back-when you can put him at PF and move Balkman to the 3 and Q to the 2), Q at the 3, Craw at the 2 and a toss up of wither Steph or Stve at the 1 with the other off the bench.
