Martin undergoes MRI on ailing right knee By The Associated Press Article Last Updated:11/08/2006 08:32:40 PM MST
Martin averaged 9.5 points and 10 rebounds in Denver's first two games. (Post file)
Kenyon Martin was sent for an MRI on his swollen right knee tonight, forcing him to miss the Denver Nuggets' game against the New York Knicks.
At the team's shootaround earlier today, Martin talked about how good his surgically repaired left knee felt and how he was getting back to full strength for the first time since undergoing microfracture surgery more than a year ago. He never mentioned any pain in his right knee.
Martin averaged 9.5 points and 10 rebounds in Denver's first two games.
As for the Knicks, Steve Francis missed the game with a sprained ankle and coach Isiah Thomas declined to say how long he thought his point guard might be out. Is this the same K-mart you clowns have been pining for? Depending on the prognosis, I don't think I would mind trading Marbs for Martin- not sure how much more that costs, but I think martin is problematic coach wise the way sprewell was- he wants to win and he has a street/thug mentality to him.
Wanting to win is irrelevant when you are not on the court because of injury and you are a team cancer who was voted off the team during the playoffs. You guys hate Marbury so much that you forget about a little thing called reality.
Player A Season -10 years, 725 games, 20.2 pts, 8.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds, .436 FG%. Playoffs-10 years, 18 games, 19.4 pts., 6.7 assists, 3.8 rebounds, .365 FG%.
Player B Season -5 yrs., 409 games, 14.9 pts., 7.4 rebs., 1.26 blks., 2.2 assists, .474 FG% Playoffs-5 yrs., 56 games, 17.6 pts., 8.1 rpg., 1.34 blks., 2.4 ast., .458 FG%.
In reality player A is Stephon Marbury and Player B is Kenyon Martin. Those stats are nice, but in 2006, K. Mart is toast. I can post some nice stats from alot of players who were once good whose bodies are breaking down on them.
Reality: Even if K. Mart was on his way to the Hall of Fame, his body is breaking down and he is done. Deal with that reality. You brought up past playoffs not me. Martin is done. He's a walking injury. I get it and I'm not disputing it.
