Curry needs to hustle more but I see him improving almost every year at age 23.He has increased his production (points plus rebounds) every year he has been in the NBA except for the LB year.

2001: 10.5
2002: 14.9
2003: 20.9
2004: 21.5
2005: 19.6
2006: 26.3

I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

everyone is so quick to forget the types of games Eddy Curry has already had in the NBA where he's put up 20 & 10 type games for some pretty decent stretches of games over the course of his career... if we can get him performing up to that level on a somewhat consistent basis, we're talking Allstar team for him... this year he seems to be on his way towards making a play for Allstar distinction, but he's going to have to start playing a big role in this team WINNING games this year while he's doing it.

Curry doesn't play both ends of the court. we CAN win with him, but he needs a bruiser power forward playing next to him. Frye is starting to look like the worst possible person to put next to him.

David Lee would be averaging 12 boards a night if Isiah decided to start the guy.

here's the opposite anology: lots of folks said that Frye would be able to average 18pts a game if he started instead of coming off the bench like last year with limited minutes. First line opponents figure players out QUICK and I hope that David is ready to start and CAN average that many boards.

Playing against the starters is a lot harder than playing against backups. Tim Duncan or Matt Bonner. Who would you rather play?

David Lee has played plenty this year against the opposing team's starters w/Frye getting into early foul trouble, playing limited minutes or just being benched for playing like crap.

So he underachieved a little less each year. Curry should be at around 35 with the physical gifts he has.

35 is a pretty unreasonable expectation for you to have... if that's the case Dwight Howard should be there as well w/the physical gifts he has, but currently he's at 25, 1 below Curry... of course, Howard is a monster on the other end blocking shots & being an intimidator, but you understand it's not a set given that a kid w/Curry's body type & athleticism would be putting up 35 type production... that's alot for even the elite bigmen in the NBA... hell, Tim Duncan's at 29, Brand's at 23 & Shaq's at 21 right now... the only bigmen w/combined pts & rebounds over 30 are Yao, KG & Dirk

I'm sure oliver miller and kandi man and other busts have put together stretches of games where they look good.

Its doing it every night that is the difference between a star and a nice good player.

Curry is a nice good player. He is not a star.

Ewing put up numbers every night- he rarely took a game off.

Curry is garbage.

agreed. DLee is better as an energy guy off the bench. we need someone BIG who can defend. too bad we didn't make that Kmart trade...

Patrick ewing was the best knick of all time and a top 30 player of all time. Eddy will never be Patrick but that doesnt make him garbage. sad to say Eddy is arguably the best player/asset we have

Plenty of guys in the nba with physical gifts. To be at 18-8 at 23 years old is pretty good.

Stop speaking logic. They don't like that, lol. :)

Curry is not a bad piece, but if we're going to build a team around him - do it. Build a team that compliments his game play. But he's not in the Ewing/Duncan/Olajuwon class where that really makes sense.

LOL you named 3 of the best 30 NBA guys ever to play in the NBA. Ofcourse he isnt at there level. They dont come around every day. Might as well add Drob, Shaq, Wilt and Kareem. He isnt at their levels either. :)

yes, I guess I mis-typed - I mean, I think to maximize Curry you have to build a team that totally compliments his game the way teams have built around the other post-up centers. But I don't think Curry is good enough for that to make sense. So I guess what I'm saying is I don't know if we can ever build a team around him that works. Hey, it only cost us two top three picks and the artist formerly known as Tim Thomas.
