I'm not suprised by anything. Crawford has had bad stretches before. What sucks is that his shot selection has been so bad. Its one thing to miss, but miss good shots not bad ones. He seems back to his pre-Larry shake back and chuck.

I said all preseason that Frye and Curry were a bad fit and would not work. Now we are 1-3 and Frye is totally lost.
I said "quick offfense" had no chance, because we do NOT control the defensive glass.

Where's the suprise?

A team of poor defenders isnt defending.
A frontcourt that doesnt rebound is getting beat on the boards.
A group of shoot first guards arent setting up guys for easy shots.
Guys are getting yanked for not playing hard.

Sounds pretty status quo to me.

so u were expecting Eddy Curry to be averaging 18 & 8 on 37 mpg at this point in the season fish? i remember i gave an optimistic estimate of 16 & 8 from Eddy this year, but that was over the course of the season... i never expected him to start out above those #'s in the first few games.

I'm not surprised at all by Curry. I have never denied he is a dominating offensive player. In fact Ive always defended his game and I'm glad we have him. I'm NOT glad we paid what we did in that trade, but Eddie is still a unique talent that can translate into winning games. Remember I pined all offseason to get Reggie Evans. A guy who could get you 20 rebounds and 0 points. A guy who played dirty. Put him next to Curry (and Curry's back up Frye) and you have the start of a good froncourt. A frontcourt balanced buy a monster on offense and a monster on the boards. Not the best defensivly but Evans is an enthusiastic defender that doesnt need the ball and you have some balance there.

Anyway enough of my rantings on Isiah's lack of vision

None of this has surprised me... Curry especially. Isnt this always the knock on him? Great on one side of the ball?

Curry has been showing improvement. His offensive fouls have been fewer and far between (But they are still there.) and he's rebounding a little more. So I say better than expected for that guy.

Same goes for Nate, Mardy (For last night) QRich and just for last night, Malik.

Where I expected:
Lee
Balkman
Francis (Inconsistent though)

Worse:
Crawford
Marbury
Frye

Francis was terrible in the first game but he was fine in the rest. I don't understand how that fits into worse than expected.

Best: Curry.
Solid: Nate, Lee, Francis
Solid but it doesn't seem like it will last: Q
No change from last year: Steph

WTF happened: Craw and Frye

No one else plays enough to be counted.

Really a shame that Frye is doing this bad. In hindsight maybe we should've traded him. He WAS our best piece.

Very few people were willing to go out on a limb and say Curry would be an 18-8 guy. I think he is doing much better than expected.
Ditto Qrich. Even Nate has performed better than expected. The Frye, Jcraw, Marbury, Francis worse than expected group are whats killed us. If those 4 shot 45% we would be 2-2 or 3-1

i don't doubt for a minute about you wanting Reggie cuz i was agreeing w/u ever since u mentioned the idea... Curry was killed all last season for his inconsistencies on the offensive end, getting into early foul trouble, not rebounding w/any consistency & lack of conditioning, not just for his lack of defense... this season he seems to have turned himself around on all 4 of those categories... i expected him to be improved but sure didn't think the change would be so noticeable so quickly this season... for the record, i did predict Curry to be the most improved player in my seasons predictions thread.

Only QRich and maybe Nate are playing better than expected, though I thought Nate could be this good at some point.

Marbury, Francis, Crawford, Frye are way worse than expected and that's a lot to say when they were expected to be 4 of the top 5 scorers on the team.

I guess everyone pretty much has the same view with maybe a couple of minor variances.

That's not going out on much of a limb. A guy with his physical gifts should be able to put up 24/12/3/3/1 in the 5 main stats.

Most guys in the nba have unreal physical gifts. Thats just another way of under cutting his progress. Very few players have ever averaged 24/12/3/3/1
