Isiah after tonight's game:

"I'm a fighter myself and I want people who are going to fight and compete," Thomas said. "And if you're not going to fight and compete, then I'm the president and we can give you a pink slip, too."

Shame on Isiah for using the media like this. That's a fireable offense in Dolan's world.

If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

based on that statement & on tonight's game, i guess Isiah will be jettisoning Steve Francis, Channing Frye & Jamal Crawford... i'm pretty sure Dolan's thinking about doing the same to Isiah right about now.

That's pretty cut and dry. I'm actually suprised isiah stoped the hello kitty talk and got Chicago on that ass. Isiah has a quick trigger. I'm gonna say 10 games but realistically it will be mid December like someone here suggested in another thead.

I think isiah is just letting is know he is not rubbing bellies in the locker room.

I don't see any specific names in the Isaiah quote, and that's what separates him, at least thus far, from the lying, game throwing, piece of crap he replaced as coach.

Based on that statement, it sounds like Jamal Crawford, Stephon Marbury, Channing Frye, possibly Curry, possibly Francis.

Let me check--how many NBA finals and championships have you won? How about an NCAA championship or nearly 30 winning season of coaching? Maybe, like some of us, LB thought that we were NOT good enough and that we needed to be blown up. It's not a good team. LB did this, LB ruined the career of Frye Lee and every other Knick. Please. How about IT put a shtty club together, spent multi-millions doing so and mortgaged the team in the process. LB walked into a mess and understood that it needed to be changed. I believe he was working in the BEST long term capacity for the knicks because we dont have a short term. IMHO, this has nothing to do with LB--its the schmucks behind the scenes with the money and the power who dont have a frikin clue.

This same message could have gotten across last year, and the year before and the year before that had Isiah supported his coach instead of always coming to the defense of the players. You can't build and win when the player's aren't being held accountable. Isiah never let his coaches hold the players accountable. Excuse making and quitting was the norm and when his coaches complained he hugged Marbury. Now it's his asssse on the firing line and when his team is quitting he is no longer hugging.
I just hope that people will like me

Now that's just mean! These players are very sensitive, and if you startle them by getting angry, or hurt their feelings they don't play well. The best way to handle them is with hugs, backrubs, incense and candles.

OMG you guys are never going to stop.
Ask yourselves this:
Did he call a specific player delusional?
Do you think he made this clear to the players in the locker room?
Do you think he ought to be saying what he said?
Do you think his subs made good sense last night?

So what the f.uck are you guys talking about?

everything lb said about this team is 100% correct.
he was fired b/c dolan didn't like his tactics.
team still would've been better off long term if he remained.

but he didn't.

fine, turn the page.

Did he call a specific player delusional?-No. He can't. The GM might fire him. Besides, he probably was crystal clear on what he wants the players to do. Unfortunately the players are too delusional to actually understand what he wants.

Do you think he made this clear to the players in the locker room?-Who knows? I am sure what he says to the players is different from what he says to the media. My problem is is he keeping up this Momma Bear act behind the scenes. Larry treated the players the same way he treated them when talking to the press. Isiah saw that didn't work. I think his Momma Bear act is what he is doing behind the scenes.

Do you think he ought to be saying what he said?-I think he should start holding guys accountable, so yes. If anything he went to easy on them. They played 4 crappy games back to back to back to back and has deflected every criticism off our players.

Do you think his subs made good sense last night?-I really don't think he had any type of choice on the matter.

that's why i didn't want any more puppet coaches brought in to prolong the train of hirings & firings under Isiah... i wanted him to be put in charge & be held fully accountable... he's the guy who brought these guys in... if they don't play hard for him, they won't play hard for anyone... so far it looks like the same set of guys who played hard last year for LB are doing the same for Isiah this season (w/the exception of Jamal & Channing, who've been very inconsistent so far & seem to be lost in Isiah's system)
