MOVE Number #1

New York Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
14.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.8 apg in 32.3 minutes
Incoming
Earl Watson
6-1 PG from UCLA
8.9 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 4.1 apg in 22.6 minutes
Kareem Rush
6-6 SG from Missouri
10.1 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 23.6 minutes
Mike Wilks
5-10 PG from Rice
1.8 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.7 apg in 7.6 minutes

Cut wilks and kareem rush, while saving an extra year of crawford, throw in a first round pick if you have to just get crawford out of town.

Move 2

Leaving: Francis/Frye/Nate

Josh Smith
6-9 SF from Oak Hill Academy (HS)
11.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 2.4 apg in 32.0 minutes
Josh Childress
6-8 SF from Stanford
10.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.8 apg in 30.4 minutes
Tyronn Lue
6-0 PG from Nebraska
11.0 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 3.1 apg in 24.2 minutes
Zaza Pachulia
6-11 C from Georgia (Foreign)
11.7 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.6 apg in 31.4 minutes

This give us some flexibility as far as positions go and an even stronger base for the future while unloading three of our shoot first guards, we will have to make do with Marbury but it balances out the roster and we still retain enough young talent to aid in the rebuilding process, however we need to buy out some contracts, but it needs to be done.

Marbury/Earl Watson
Q/Childress
Jefferies/Balkman
Smith/Lee
Curry/Zaza

Defenders: Smith/Lee/Balkman/Watson/Jeff/Childress

i don't see ATL giving up all that youth for a package containing Steve Francis... you'd have much better luck if you took his name out of the deal... maybe Frye & Nate for Smith, Lue & a protected future pick could work.

i don't see how the 1st trade helps this franchise at all, much less giving up a 1st rounder just to unload Jamal's contract... i think it's way too early to just give up on Jamal Crawford after he'd shown the signs of being the type of player we want him to be last season... i'd much sooner buy out Marbury or Francis & give Crawford more of a role on this team to find his game again.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

first of we'd still win 30 games and secondly why do other teams want to give us their players for our sht?

the bottom line in the NBA is you need that ONE player to build around--YOU MUST be able to acquire that one player somehow someway and usually it takes two. we have NONE so we will not be contenders

on top of that if they dont realize that the INCONSISTERNT players are just killing us, they shouldnt have jobs. start cutting minutes and let guys play who can play

the only chance the knicks have of being contenders is getting Lebron and Wade to come to the Knicks, by constructing a team that will have good flexibility in three years is the only chance they have of getting better.

Smith is going to develop into a 15pts 11rbs 3block, Lee is going to be a 9pts 9rbs off the bench guy, Watson is great defender and competant pg, Curry will turn into a big threat down low if they allow him to by getting him the ball, and childress is going to be a good offensive player with range in a few years and will have trade value.

So we can either try to win with Crawford, who by the way sucks and will never be good, nate who i like but is more of a one on one player or try to rebuild a defensive minded unit that can look people down

Balkman, Jefferies, Watson, Smith could be a serious defensive unit
