Forget Nellie, Riles, JVG, Karl, Etc, they all got jobs.

Its one thing to fire Isiah, but another to hire a reaplacement President/GM (not Grunlayden in my estimate) and then a coach.

We also purge Aguire, to "Suhr" with love, and other Isiah minions.

Dave Hanners?? as coach???

Herb??

Is Ewing really being realistic? Forget Starks, and Oak. Thats would be a "Starphuch" with no substance.

I think Granik went in another direction. I was hoping for a "thorn" type hire.

Jerry West Starphuch? Magic Starphuck?

To me it would make sense to get an up and comer than a branded name.

Bottom line is what the hell can a person do with this mess??

As we have said many times, it starts at the top and it starts with a plan!

My plan would be:

1-Hire a GM that is OK with rebuilding and can stick to it. AND has the power and reputation to tell Dolan to ef' off! West does come to mind, but he is not the only one out there.

2-Move Steph, Francis, JJ for picks and contracts...Go all young. If you can somehow obtain a PG that can actually run an offense. Even a guy like Earl Watson would be great. But I would prefer a younger option, although not many are available.

3-See what Nate is made of. He is 5-6. He needs to learn to play the point. Or we need to know if he has what it takes to be a severly undersized SG.

4-Make everyone EARN PT. Earn It. That should be the motto.

-Hire a GM that is OK with rebuilding and can stick to it
Ownership wants immediate $$$ not rebuilding and won't hire that kind of GM
has the power and reputation to tell Dolan to ef' off
Same thing. They just want to sell Starbury jerseys.

If I recall, the title of this thread was asking what each individual poster's plan was.

Fair enough. I take it your view is that this organizations' problems can be fixed by getting a new GM while keeping the present ownership. I can't agree with that, but like you said the thread's just asking for each individuals' plan

just get rid of Isiah & Marbury... buy out Big Turd cuz he's a waste of a roster spot & no one out there would be crazy enough to trade for him anyway... the Knicks would be much better off giving his roster spot to a kid out of the CBA, NBDL or an undrafted FA rook.

Francis is salvageable i think as long as you find him a true role on this team... he's way too redundant w/Marbury's game for them to play effectively alongside each other... you guys noticed the team was playing well vs. a good Pacers team when Francis was running the show & Marbury was off the floor... it's when Marbury returned to the rotation that Francis again became confused over his role & both of them played like crap...

if you watch carefully, you'll notice that Francis for the most part has at least tried to be a leader on the floor by gathering his teammates together during huddles & getting on the same page during stoppage of play... that's not to say i think Francis is all of a sudden a leader, but the effort at least is there so far this season... Marbury's just been out of it w/the exception of the 1st game vs. MEM... it almost seems as if he's been content to simply blend in & follow the lead of others on this team... for him to be the player this team needs, he needs to take charge & be that leader... it's becoming clearer & clearer everyday that he'll never be able to take on that mantle.

Francis has brief stretches each year of a few weeks where he looks like he's dedicated and people think he's actually changed. He's a teaser! Maybe he was Jamal Crawford's role model.

Going with Marbury or Francis or Jamal as starters is switching seats on the Titanic IMO

That's true and it started before any of those players came here and will continue to sink even if they are not here.

well, at least they're not looking for the quick fix solutions anymore (or so they say)... we'll see if their new "allow the young guys to grow & develop" plan is sincere or not.
