he's playing ALOT of minutes...and he's even out there playing PF for a good stretch of the game.

they're not running plays for him perhaps but the minute total, especially at PF where he's taking time from dlee is curious, no?

I think he is just playing well on the O end and is the only small (SF/SG) who plays D.

Only 2-way player the Knicks have.

The conspiracy theorist in me says that both Q and Francis are being showcased b/c they're both "Larry guys". Especially Q.
-- the preceding post was brought to you by the letter K and the number 22.

just when i'm starting to have faith in this management to do the right thing, watch Isiah trade Q for a waste like Darius Miles.

Meaning IT is still has some things to do to put NY Knicks dipper in the hole.

At least they all know their roles: go out there, forget about positions, run when you can, stand around when you can't, and wait for someone to chuck.

he's playing a lot because he's one of the only players who can put the ball in the hoop.

If he trades for Darius Miles, I will not root for Isiah's Knicks.

You know Isiah is about winning now... but I'm a new GM, a smart GM or anyone but Isiah I'm featuring Q, Francis, Curry and Crawford as best I can. If I can package any of them for an expiring contract and get first rounders back I'm doing just that. There are ZERO stars on this team. There is ZERO players that can be the foundation to build on. That being said there are some good players and I think a good plan would be to get them playing well and market them for picks and expiring contracts. When you look at guys like Rondon, Marcus Williams, Lowry... you can get good players late in the draft. Add Nate, Lee and Balkman to that group. Enough to build a winning NBA team? No, its a league of stars but if you take this course of action in 2 years (after this one when BooBury comes off the books) your looking at a roster full guys most under 25. Dont resign anyone.. just match qualifying offers so you know your not overpaying and we should have at least $20mm in cap space as well.

I'm not an advocate of losing, but just because Chi has our pick shouldnt force us to take a direction that doesnt make sense.

Best moves in a long time were just dumping Mo and Jalen.

w/the #'s Q's putting up, he's more than a good value at the money he's making... Q is definitely not 1 of the problems this team has right now... Jamal, Francis & Marbury have not shown any consistency this season at all... & Frye is stinking up the joint like there's no tomorrow... Isiah needs to find a way to get those guys playing up to their capabilities... Q's not a guy i'm worried about at all this season... i think him having a big bounceback season this year was inevitable... he's 1 of the few guys on this team w/any sense of pride.

With the year he just came off of, I think teams are gonna want a lot more than 3 good games to start being interested in paying him about $8 mil annually.

compared to Stephon & Francis, Q Rich is a relative bargain... & i'm not an advocate of trading Q Rich, just so you know.

No way at this point do I trade Curry. He may not be a superstar but is showing signs of being one of the top centers. He has shown improvement and if we keep playing him 35-40 mins per night he will keep getting better. Its only been 3 games. With the price we paid for him I'm not getting 10cents on a dollar for him. Patience.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Teams won't compare Q to Steph and Francis. They'll evaluate Q on his own and he's a guy with a large contract who was one of the worst players in the league last year and has simply had a couple of good games. If he puts together a good MONTH, then he might have a little trade value.

When Jefferies gets back, a starting unit of Francis, Q, Jefferies, Lee, Curry would really do well. That team has some of the best rebounders in the league at their respective positions (except Curry) and we have 2 above average perimeter defenders. Jefferies and Lee don't need touches on the offensive end to be effective. That is a balanced unit that would fight every single night. Without Marbury in the mix, I would bet Francis would go back to being his old self.

Nate, Crawford, Frye, and Balkman off the bench gives us a running unit with tons of energy. Frye needs to come off the bench -- he needs to play against other second units. Let him come off the bench and average 15 and 6 then trade him at the deadline for a banger at the 4.

Buy out Marbury.

I don't know about "really do well." In an extended stretch of games, I think that lineup would have a winning percentage between .400 and .500, maybe .530 if everything worked out perfectly but I doubt it.

You're right on wsdm. Q has been playing great, but looking at his history, you have to figure he is simply hot. He's a good player, but cannot maintain this level of play.

As for his getting showcased, I think that is very possible. I would rather they showcase JC though.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
