It was Larry's idea. Hey was it Larry or Isiah who didn't play Francis last year? oh yeah, that was Larry.

The issue wasn't asking for Francis, it was not using him once he got here.

Steve was horrible last yr because he couldn't do what Larry wanted him to as the 2 gaurd in his offense. Remember Larry was actually trying to cater to Steph some later in the yr. Hence him not getting suspended when Zeke suggested it. Francis came into a hostile environement and Larry tired to use him like Rip Hamilton but he is a horrible jump shooter. Franics is a penetrator but how could he do what he's doing this yr vs last yr when that was Steph's role to break down the D and play PNR. I think Larry was hoping Zeke would eventually get the point to trade Steph and when he didn't he couldn't find a way to mix the players correctly, being that half of them quit after about the first 2mos.

Nevertheless Larry was apparently headed in the right direction trying to acquire Steve.

Larry wanted him. Brown said as much in the press conference that introduced Francis. In so many words Brown said "I bugged Isiah to get him once I saw he was available."

I thought he may have wanted Francis not quite sure about the Jalen move though.

Anyway it's no differnt this yr with Zeke and his coaching flaws vs Larry. Zeke isn't using Crawford, Frye, or Steph properly. Larry only had so many games left in the season to coach the new acquisitions(Franics). When he acquired Francis he took Franics out of a bad situation that was on the uprise and brought him into a War Zone.

then why did Brown go into a meeting after the season with Isiah and give him a list of 5 players who absolutely needed to be waived that included Francis?

Because Francis quit on him. Larry didn't want any players who didn't want to be coached by him. I'm not in agreement with how he approached things but clearly Francis gave up last yr.

Because alzheimers is a terrible disease and Larry clearly forgot to take his medication before he wrote that list.

Or Francis sucks and he didnt realize it until he was wearing a Knick uniform?

Larry is a flavor of the month guy. He needs a strong gm who has a vision for the team and ignores his rants about his players. That is what he has had when he is successful. Larry wanted to trade Reggie Miller when he coached the Pacers. He traded Mark Jackson and then reacquired him. He is an emotional reactionary guy who cannot have say in personnel matters to the extent that Thomas gave it to him. I am sure Larry would have ended up loving Ariza. Thomas was responsible for assembling the roster and personnel moves. It is his job to make those decisions based on his vision for the team. He should listen to his coach but ultimately he is responsible for personnel moves and should be held accountable for them. My guess is that during his coaching tenure Brown has presented his GM's with many names of players to be waived who never were. Thomas wanted Brown to bail him out for all of his mistakes. Brown wanted Thomas to be a puppet or to have his job.

Is Zeke held accountable for that pathetic play of Frye, Crawford, and Stephon.
