Fortson is a rebounder not a bball player. He is one dimensional. I think giving up Ward would be one of the dumbest moves EVER ive seen in recent memory since Jwill 4 Bibby. Swift is off the table and Jerry Wests' asking price is too high. Lorensen would make me really happy but I cant see the Knicks making a deal for him unless Jwill or Battier were included.

And who exactly would you have brought on with the exception. When you really look at it there is no one to sign as a free agant, and no one that really values any of the Knick players. Not alot of possibilities out there.

The exemption is really the least the Knicks worries. They have already lost in all likelyhood the chance to draft Lebron James to the Cavs. I fear the Knicks will win just enough games to be slotted in the same 6-8 place in the lottery and miss out on all the stud players.

Absolutely. Im in the camp that wants to snag a second high pick. Imagine if we COULD walk away with Chris Bosh and Emeka Okafor early and Darius Rice George leach type late in the firts round. Both of those guys have more skills than anyone who has been mentioned in the threads.

The key is getting the second high pick and I think we can use a package of Thomas Vujonic and a second rounder to obtain one in the 5-8 area. Just like Indianan did when they dumped Antonio Davis on Toronto for a 4 pick thre years ago.

Uhmmm ... Vujanic and 2nd isn't going to get the Knicks into the top eight. Not going to Happen... Just like Kurt Thomas isn't going to get us a top ten pick. Thomas is good player, but I wouldn't say he's a go-to player... he's be a role player on a good team, at most a third option.. and scouts now this. ... Spree is the only one on the team that may get close to brining in this second hight pick.

I agree we need two high picks to officially get the makeover rolling
and do think Okafor should be a target. He's smart, athletic, and a beast under the boards. He'd give us toughness we need without demanding shots. That part of his game will develop.
