Hawks coach Mike Woodson had dinner with Larry Brown in Philadelphia on Tuesday and said the former Knicks coach got most of the $41 million left on his contract. Woodson also is close with Thomas.

"He was able to get paid the contract he signed," Woodson said of Brown. "He's definitely relieved now he can move on, continue to coach. Anytime your contract is splattered in the paper and [you] don't know if you're going to get paid or not get paid, I'm sure it's been on his mind."

"He's totally relieved," Woodson said. " ... Larry was able to accomplish what he set out in terms of being able to get paid the contract that he signed. Isiah's hands and the ownership's hands are washed from it, so as far as I'm concerned, it's a dead issue. I'm sure they're looking at it in that way, too."

I heard that Larry got a lot less. And the NBA is covering it up because they do not want teams to start cutting coaches contract out of nowhere.

I'd be shocked if LB didnt come away with at least 35 mill out of the 50 mill total. He probably got more. LB had killer attorneys that never would have made a deal to stay silent if they did not come out with reasonable dollars. LB had nothing to lose by going to the press. His silence was bought in the deal.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

It would be consistant with him getting his contract but not any more.

Larry did not breach his contract. Interpretation on this was minimal.

My litigation lawyer friends pretty much felt this was a layup for his legal team.

Larry by having Stern as his arbitrater was a brilliant move because Stern knows what an inept management team filled with INCONSISTANCIES exists.

This is not to say from a fans perspective that Larry getting paid is an awful thing for them. But a contract is a contract and its pretty evident that Larry was promised certain things and the Knicks did not fulfil what they said they did and that contributed to the hostile environment by which things can get out of hand.

If Isiah was put on trail he might have to do time if you consider the magnitude of failure he has demonstrated!

By the way, if Woodsen talked with larry recently, and Larrys brother Herb is an atlanta assistant coach, is it little wonder we lost last nite? Larry might be an ***hole, but he is still Larry Brown the wondercoach.

Does this even really matter anymore? The Old Weasel is gone and is no longer a Knicks problem. Time to turn the page.
