Obviously Frye is having a lot of trouble finding his offense in the early goings. There might be a lot of reasons, coming back from injury, weight training, not getting recognized by the guards, etc. It doesn't really matter, none of that is an excuse, every player has to deal with that stuff.

The question is, how can he get his butt back on track?

I think he has to stop looking for the ball to get fed to him, stop looking to get his J off. He needs to take his cue from Lee and get his points from scrapping and running the floor.

If he does that and gets himself some high-percentage shots, I have no doubt his silky smooth J will come back and open up the rest of the game for him on offense.

Or maybe its just that goddamm new ball!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

He can get back his game from driving for once. Trying to post up. If he just continues to take jumpers then his groove will never comeback.

I agree BigC. It's not other players giving him the ball, its what he is doing when he has the ball. Fumbling it, missing easy shots etc. I don't think he has been to the foul line yet this season

frye's confidence is shot. i wouldn't be surpised if we saw him brought off the bench as soon as tonight.

Driving is nice, but it is still trying to force his offense when he is uncomfortable. He did try to drive last night and he was promptly stripped.

I would prefer to see him rebound and run for his buckets and regain his equilibrium that way.

Okay, let's say we play him primarily at center which I think is a bad idea. The reasoning I have heard is that he is not quick enough to guard PF's.

So then we put Curry on these quick PF's?

Let's say we put Frye on the bench. Is lee Locking down these Pf's? Do we put Lee at center?

fyre's defense is not going to change. putting him on the bench removes pressure and allows him to be the first option on offense with the 2nd unit. once he gets his offense going, he'll be more comfortable out there.

but defensively? that's not changing no matter where we put him. he can body up a bigger player (like a center) so he probably will do a better job defensively on a guy like that but the difference won't be dramatic.

you can clearly see he has no place in the 1st unit offense. and b/c of that, he's trying to do too much like oohah said.

He has a better chance of trying to drive off a head fake than shooting a deep three when a player is in his face. Frye is in his second year. There are scouting report all over the place. Especially since he is a starter. If he can't mix it up then he will be shut down

This is an ironic statement but you know what I havent seen all season? Fryes smile. He smiled a lot last year. I think he is pressing way too much this year. I say its ironic because this year is supposed to be more about fun. It seems to be for some other guys.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

He gets out muscled by PFs so why put him at Center? Well he gets out quicked by Pfs as well so I understand the thinking but I dont know if thats the answer.

two players have regressed this year - jamal and frye. quentin's looking better b/c he's in shape otherwise he would be doing the same thing last year.

DJ, it's early to call regression. Also, I don't think JC regressed. He is inconsistent period. This is the player he is. Just because he had a good stretch last year didn't mean he changed. He has done this before.

it is early. but looking at the entire preseason, and now when it counts, we see jamal going back to his chucking ways. not just missing jumpshots, but going completely 1 on 1 and chucking up shots. last year, we didn't see that at all. he was actually coming off of screens and curls alot more. he's inconsistent, but this is more about how he's taking shots as opposed to his fg%. and frye, did we set up one play for him last night? the dude looks visibly shaken. when he missed that wide open dunk, well that was all i needed to see to know his head is out of it.

You know whats funny? Jclutch hasnt really regressed. Now hold on a second. He has regressed from the last months of last season but for some reason Jclutch is always a horrible shooter in the first month of the season. I think he has shot like 29% for his career in Novemeber. So he is right on schedule, lol. Actually Jclutchs shooting has been horrrible and his decision making bad. BUT this year he is still getting to the line. That is an improvement that started last season and is continuing.

I would have figured at the "happy happy joy joy" Isiah regime he would be doing better.

We should have payed Anucha and fired Isiah. WOuld have saved tens of millions!

Dolan is stupid and fell for Darth Isiahs evil mind tricks.

Yoda (larry) would have been the correct path.

Thats why it is ironic. I havent seen him smile once. Ive seen Marbury, Francis, Curry, Qrich and Lee having fun. Frye seems like he is really pressing. Maybe the knee isnt 100%.

The Atlanta announcers commented last night that Marbury and Francis would both hang their heads when Isiah would pull them. I believe it ws Steve Smith who said they arent used to being taken out of games

I agree that Frye appears to be pressing. He is taking quick shots and making poor decisions. I think he needs to just focus on defense and rebounding right now and not worry about trying to score too much. Let him just get his shots in the natural flow of the game when opportunities present themselves instead of trying to force feed him. He added weight this summer and he may just need a little time adjusting to his body. I think he will eventually find his game and once he does, this team will really be dangerous.

I think a little trip down to the islands is in order. That'll get the grove back. Works every time.
