Marcus Camby last night: 16 points, 18 rebounds, 4 blocks, 4 assists, 1 steal.

I don't care if he's cotton Camby. Thanks a lot Layden.

if we still had camby, we more than likely would not have curry. just a hunch.

yeah, I was watching that game, he was absolutely all over the court ... Camby was my favorite Knick ... I guess I'm glad to see him doing well ... but it hurts

Maybe...I think if the course continue the way went...(with Layden getting fired and JVG quitting) I think I.thomas would still go after James...but the change would have probably been Brynum getting drafted instead of Frye....

hmmm...this is interesting

if we had not made that McDyess trade, perhaps we would have the following:

C - Camby / Cato / Big Fertilizer
PF - Amare or Wilcox / Lee
SF - Morrison / Jefferies / Balkman
SG - Q Rich / ?
PG - Craw / Nate

wow, do you know what an impact this trade has on the league.
tms says we would maybe have amare, so pheonix would never have got nash, he would have stayed in dallas. q rich would have stayed with clips or the team he was on.
the nba world would be totally different. Its crazy when you think of it.
MJ may have came back :)

no need for sarcasm here... i was pointing out a hypothetical, just like you did in your previous post by saying we would more than likely would not have Curry.

so many people around here who want to jump on people for posting an opinion... sheesh!

TMS, I say there's no way we have all those players if we make that trade. Who knows cause maybe Layden would still be here if he drafted Amare, kept Camby, and maybe Houston would be less relied on, hence, maybe his knees get salvaged. That could be pretty sick right there. Ugh.

I don't think he was teasing you. He was being serious and I think he's probably right.

Let's not forget how pissed Camby was when they shipped him to Denver.

i think it's pretty clear he was being sarcastic.

anyway, i don't see why my hypothetical is so far fetched... if we hadn't made the Camby for Dice trade, this team would have drafted a PF... the 2 best PF prospects in the draft that could have been picked at #7 were Wilcox & Amare that year (Nene was DEN's choice, not ours)

then following along w/Michael's hypothetical about not having Curry here, it also follows that we would not have traded away our 1st round pick last season... w/that pick we could have had a guy like Adam Morrison to play the 3 (assuming we would have had the same type of disastrous season last year under LB to even be picking at #2, but that's way too much to factor here)

& of course, w/o Dice, we would not have made that Marbury trade, so Penny would not have been here either, which nixes the Francis trade.

see how that all falls together?

Just imagine if we had Amare. We lost some good players, or passed on some, in the last few years. And though I wish Amare the best, imagine how this city would have felt potentially losing Amare. Ouch, that would suck. Feel sorry for Phoenix regarding him.

With Camby and Amare as your frontcourt, you wouldn't be in a position to be coming close to drafting Morrison or any top first round prospects, and we wouldn't even be thinking about Bynum or Channing Frye right now. Maybe Layden pulls off a Crawford trade b/c I slightly remember rumors of him being interested in Jamal, but that's really it. We wouldn't be talking about how terrible life is without Ewing either. Dammit.

TMS, your hypothetical is based on Layden not being a complete tool, which he was dude.

Look back at some his other stellar draft choices from 2000-2003 (keep in mind, only Sweetney and maybe Lampe is still in the NBA):

F.Williams
Sweets
Vranes
Lampe
Vuljanic
Chenowith
Wright
Harvey
Postell

Without the Dice trade, chances are he would've F'ed up the draft choice man. I had zero faither in that loser

Not to mention he traded Glen Rice for 2 idiots and dumped Spree for KVH
ohhh and the Ewing trade happened under his watch, making it his repsonsibility.

To many halfazz moves to consider anything good happening with that clown Layden.

Amare was out all last season, so i think it's very reasonable to think we could have had a shot at drafting a top 1st rounder last year in that scenario.

He also drafted Kirleinko, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Stockton and Malone?
