I believe we should build the team around D Lee and Q Rich and get rid of the rest of the team. To me the rest of the team are a bunch of malcontents.

I vouched years ago to bring Pat Riley and Walt Frazier to the front office because of their basketball knowledge and the fact they are proven winners. I also agree with those posters who want Patrick Ewing as our big man's coach because our bigs definitely have a lot to learn.

We should move the whole team because:

Marbury plays 0 defense. I notice since he's been here that he get's used on defense and I cant stand it. His 20 and 8 is gorgeous but not if he is conserving his energy just for offense. Opposing guards get into the paint at will anytime with him guarding them. We do not have the shot blockers or front line to protect him. I dont think he will ever play defense except for 1 out of 10 games. Therefore we should move him aside from the fact he is not a leader and probably will never be one. I miss Derek Harper (My favorite all time Knick) and even Charlie Ward at this point. They werent so flashy on O but at least they didnt let players run circles on them where it counts.

Crawford has amazing talent but needs to drive to the hoop more and get to the line all day. Watching him chuck shots yesterday like that made me think that Isiah gave him the green light and LB's leash is off him. His hot selection was horrific and unacceptable. He needs to square up on jumpshots and be fed the ball more when he is open where he consistently makes his long range jumpers (coaching staff realize this?) To me Crawford is not a playoff type shooting guard until he prooves he can handle his game without being babied.

Francis jumper is terrible and I dont see him working out here. Terrible move by Isiah. Him and Marbury are identical players but he cannot shoot. I dont think they have the bball IQ to make them dangerous to opponents rather than to themselves and the team. Hopefully I am wrong. We should have just let Penny and AD's contract's run out. That was very obvious because of the fiscal insanity propogated by IT previous to last season.

Curry seems lazy out of shape and too inconsistent. I dont see any anger in his game. Aside from yesterday where are the rebounds? Where is the shot blocking, intimidation and defense. Absolutely nowhere. All I see is him taking advantage of weaker Centers, playing limited minutes, with no post moves, and many offensive fouls. He seriously needs/ed to work on his game big time.

Robinson is a good ball player but makes many mental mistakes. I like him but I feel he'd rather fight the refs sometimes rather than try and make the team better. He can potentially be solid at the backup PG position but needs to get his mind straight.

I love D Lee and Q Rich. Even if their offense is not there, they are playing hard on Defense which is what wins games. They also appear to know their roles and play with the flow of the game. As bad as Q Rich was last year, he definitely busted his ass on D and looks more like his old form.

I like Channing but aside from his sweet J... he is also getting used on Defense real bad. If we can get a sharp/solid defensive minded big man for Channing I would do a trade before we risk his trade value diminishing.

I also like what I have seen from Balkman so far. I would love to build a team around smarter more defensive minded players. Intelligence, teamwork, hustle and defense help win games. Trying to emulate other team philosophies is unlikely to work with these guys.

Also the NBA and its new rules are disgusting. The offensive fouls are ridiculous. NBA is becoming real p***y. These guys are big and built. The rules were better in the 1990's. Whistle every 2 plays taking the fun out of the game. Guess I am stuck in the 90's. Now days players cannot shoot or hit FT's. Thankfully last year's playoffs were very good; the best since the Jordan era.

I certainly hope we're not but so far in Isiah's tenure we're a garbage can and mostly for the reasons that Meterz mentioned. Theres no defense.

I almost agree with you bro. Personally I feel like we should just get rid of Steph and Francis. Go all young and just do this. I would love for Isiah and Isiah alone to teach Nate.

Q was one of the worst players in the entire league last year. Let's not overreact to one good game. In 99% of his Knick career, he's been the kind of player you want to keep as far away as possible from your team.

Q was injured and went through Hell with his personal life and he still wanted to fight through it and play and never quit. That's the kind of guy I want in the battlefield next to me.
