Not just one person, not just about Marbury or Frye or Curry or that we should have taken Marcus Williams instead of Balkman (Which we should have.)
But when I look at this starting lineup, I see a lot of talent, but get scarred as a Knicks fan, b/c the defense is poor at 4 positions, on help and man to man. You take our backcourt, and saw guys posterizing Marbury and Francis on a regular basis in the pre season and it makes you worry extra more about the frontcourt. Curry and Frye aren't great one on one defenders to begin with, nor help, and now they have to worry about blocking off the guys beating our guards. To me, I just have a feeling that Curry and Frye foul out too early in a majority of the games and we are forced to give our bench overextended minutes because of this.
To me, it only makes sense to trade one of Francis or Marbury or both AND one of Curry and Frye or both simply for better defensive players b/c I just don't see how that lineup can work. In the short term, you can change the starting lineup with what we have, but in the end, it's just too much talent.
On the other end, I think our bench is great and can be pretty solid defensively, even with the signing of Cato, b/c I have always liked him. However, your bench isn't supposed to be the lineup dominating the games for your team. It can only take you so far, especially if Curry and Frye are fouling out so early in games.
I just think that trades have to be made and it's ashame that it's come to the point that the owner doesn't even trust Isiah anymore.
I have high hopes for the season, but it's just too early to tell. With that being said, I DON'T think it even can and will work out with the starting rotation we have.
