I am a huge believer in the Lee and Frye front court.

I am of the opinion that these two could really play off of each other...they already have the chemistry and their skillsets compliment each other.

I just saw ty thomas drop an incredible put back (he's a bit shakey free throw wise) and it got me thinking about Curry.

Two styles of play that can be employed by the knicks.

They can go with the slow it down offense led by crawford and curry.
The two man game of strong back court mate and front court dominator. Crawfords improved defense and ability to hit the clutch shot make him an ideal young athletic john stockton to Curry's Malone.

Hard work is the main component seperating the two groups. :)

Thinking less about crawford and curry being stockton malone, but looking into their ability to dump it into the post and succeed off of the double team.

And they already have chemistry.

The other philosophy is to go with Lee and Frye.

That one two punch in the post would run the floor, get boards (lee put backs off of frye misses) hit open looks, body up/block shots in the paint.

Maybe we should be exploring moving Curry for KG and building around a front court that, when combined, blocks shots, gets boards, forces turnovers, gets loose balls, hits the open jumper and played center in college (both).

If no trade is explored, then I say follow the UK opinion of inserting Lee into the starting lineup and and rather than moving Frye to the bench, you bring curry off the bench.

edit: the lakers took Kwame Brown...would Minnesota take a Curry and Francis deal.

i agree...I'd like to see lee start and then fit the other big in where needed.

Another thought may be to start the two bigs and force feed them until they score 50 or foul out.

Getting in foul trouble is a good thing with lee coming off the bench. and if a big is getting in foul trouble, it should be because he's scoring or being featured to score or simply on the losing end of a matchup on the floor.

Would that be a better use of lee...much in the manner we save crawford for the end of games...getting more minutes than both channing and Curry, but coming off the bench.

the redundant starting lineup (previouly "balanced" by jefferies) is one strange bird. francis and marbury meet frye and curry.

meanwhile crawford and lee (the best in their respective courts) patiently wait to take over the game.

Albeit streaky and for a short period of time...their impact is felt more often than not positively.

well this is the team lb had last year. and in better shape. so let's see how much lb was holding them back now.
