With Jefferies out probably until Jan with his break, (these injuries never heal fast, Frye and Lee being both second year players, and Curry able to play about 28 minutes a game the Knicks are really thin. Cato is going to have to give us some good clock and Frye and Lee are really going to have to step up and get things done for this team to have a chance.

Out until January? He broke it in early October & it is a 6-8 week injury. Re-check your math.

too much pressure on those kids to perform. pf is an elite position and in the first month, they have to face harrington/o'neal, duncan (twice), kmart/camby, yao(twice), gooden/z(twice), jamison, shaq/zo, kg, ben (twice).

this is what some may not understand. when you have a frontcourt that young and inexperienced, and who don't play defense, it's very difficult to win in this league, especially at a good pace. are the 5 headed backcourt good enough to overcome that? i don't think so.

we're in for some tough times. frye has to wake up.

Purple your math is correct. If you're a betting man I will give you December 1st and I will take Jan 1st that Jefferies will be playing. I think the young kids will be inconsistent but they have to win 2 out of the first 3 to get things going.

It's too bad that Jeffries is going to be out a while with that damn wrist and your right King, those things are tricky, especially for basketball players since there is so much contact.

King, do you know if there is an outside chance that Isiah will be looking into a Justin Williams, Pittsnoggle or a Chris Taft?

Wow...that sucks. King1 > my apologies.

Do you guys think this factored into the JRose buy out? In other words, while the NY Times speculated that we won't sign anybody, maybe we end up using the spot for an Elton Brown, Justin Williams, Kevin Pittsnogle etc.

It speaks to how much they didn't want Rose since he could have played SF.

Dlee needs to start now. Bring Frye off the bench. Play Balkman a LOT. We'll be okay. Jefferies would've really helped our perimeter D though, dammit.

this should be Isiah a legit excuse if we start 2-20. I mean... how can you win without JJ?

Honestly though, I think the guys that will really have to step up are Q and Francis. We are going to play a lot of small ball and those two are physical players that rebound well. In some ways it forces Isiah to play to our stregnth which is small line ups with one big man

Being thin up front is not excuse since we waived MoT and Rose....2 guys who at the very least could be used to fill spots.
