Nice huh? Tell me you don't want this kid. He was just cut on 10/26 by the Kings and he's available. Waive Jalen and get this kid in here. Curry and Frye backed up by Lee and Justin Williams would be one of the best, deepest bigman rotations in the game at the 4/5 spots. Dominant interior (Curry) and perimeter (Frye) scoring; amazing rebounding, athleticism, hustle, savvy and smarts (Lee) and a dominant shotblocker/rebounder in the making in the Theo Ratliff mold (Williams).

Even with Cato on board they have to get this kid and then figure it all out later. Jesus, make it happen immediately if not sooner Zeke!

He sounds good to me and we need a shot-blocker at the PF spot really bad on this team. If we waive Jalen so we can get this guy, then I think waiving Jalen might be a good move after all.

a team with ZERO shotblockers dumped him.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

There is absolutley nothing wrong with picking up a prospect that has a skill you lack. This team can afford to bring in a player like that to look at over time. I wouldn't put it past Isiah to know about this guy and perhaps have him in his sights. Let's not forget that Isiah loves athletic and long players. He seems like a good project to turn into a defensive specialist on a team that sorely lacks shotblocking and help defenders. The way we play a guy like that would only need to get on the floor for limited minutes. We just need to be able to put a defensive unit on the floor at key points in every game. We're gonna score and to be able to hold teams when we need to is INVALUABLE!

I say bring him in and let's see what he's got.

Not sure exactly what you mean there Bobs, but if you're insinuating that the kid isn't good enough, all I can say is that Rome wasn't built in a day, you know what I mean? Sure he's a project and nowhere near a complete player, but we don't need him to be right now. We need a reliable backup who can intimidate, rebound the ball and block a damn shot! Period. If he can do that, and I think he can, possibly even at a high level, I'd be willing to wait for the rest of the package to develop. Now imagine 2-3 years down the road when he puts on a few more pounds of muscle and develops a little jump hook or a drop-step. Get back to me then...

What can I say about Sacramento bro - they **** the bed on this and the Knicks should be ready to pounce. Mussleman, Petrie and the Maloofs obviously thought that adding Mo Taylor to finalize their roster was more important (the Knicks paying the freight for Taylor probably made it an easy decision). They'll find out quickly that that was a mistake. The Kings were probably enamored with his little postup game, as was I when we got him, but the fact of the matter is Taylor's garbage. He really is. He can score it a little I guess but he's a damn ball hog/black hole, doesn't rebound and doesn't defend a lick. And he had a lot to say on his way out after the Knicks accomodated him with the buyout. He can flop and take a charge with the best of 'em, I'll give him that. But that's about it. Good riddance...

Curious about the Kings: it looks like they still have a roster spot open - they only look like they have 14 guys. Williams or this kid Amundson from Vegas couldn't have made it? WTF? If you had to cut Amundson, I guess I could see it (they have Artest, Shareef, Kenny Thomas, etc.). He probably wouldn't have played at all, but cutting Justin Williams??? Brad Miller's good but he's injury-prone, Loren Woods (injuries aside) is a bust and Potapenko hustles but none of these guys protect the rim or intimidate at all.

Whatever, enough about the Kings. I couldn't care less about the Kings and their problems. I'm all about my Knicks and here's the case for Justin Williams:
(1) Curry and Frye don't defend the post much at all, let alone block shots
(2) Curry & Frye are always in foul trouble
(3) JJ1, JJ2 and Malik are hurt. JJ1 sucks anyway and Malik might be the next to go. Plus he's not a center.
(4) Lee's awesome, probably my favorite Knick, but he's too small to play the 5 against most teams.
(5) God forbid any of our other bigs ever went down (it's a long 82 game schedule. Every team in the league deals with injuries at one time or another during this marathon. Lets hope we got ours out of the way early. But knock on wood, just in case, this kid would be a really nice option).
(6) Was it me or did Cato look pretty old out there against the Nets? Justin Williams is 22-years-old and fits in quite nicely with the current youth movement.
(7) The clincher for me was reading that article about Williams. This is a 22-year-old kid who cares about blocking shots, playing defense and winning. That's it. Sounds like he couldn't care less about scoring, being the man, etc. And in an era where almost every player overly-concerns himself with scoring, touches, numbers and money (remember Kurt Thomas complaining to Ewing, Oak, LJ and Camby that he should get the ball more - LOL!!!! You see what I mean...), reading what Justin Williams is all about is extremely refreshing.

Zeke, you never brought this kid in for a pre-draft workout as far as I remember then passed on this kid after the draft - both mistakes. Don't make the same mistake again. Please. Even if we gotta send him to the D-League for a period of time, I don't care, just get this kid on board!

Good post Nix, I agree 100%

I've seen him play a few times when I've been up late at night watching those Pac10/WAC/MWC games that you find on at 12:00. He comes as advertised, he's a ferocious shotblocker and that is something this team sorely lacks. Offensively, I saw nothing from him as far as post moves and a jump shots, but he's very active and very athletic so he can get a lot of tip-ins and the such. He would make an excellent addition to this team.

By the way, I'm not giving up on crusade to get Kevin Pittsnoggle in here. I just think he would fit this offense so perfectly with his shooting, passing, floor skills. I'd be fine with either one of these guys and not some retread like Cato again.

I really like Justin Williams. I wanted the Knicks to take him at 29.

The fact that the Kings willingly chose Mo Taylor over Justin williams sort of blows my mind.

Never seen the kid play, he sounds like Keon Clark Jr., though. I would think this move is ok(then we would jus have to cut Malik or Jerome No Motivation" James and sign Jay WIlliams )
