It’s Gotta Be The Shoes: Call it a “weird” coincident – but Stephon Marbury has been suffering from a foot injury he claims is the result of stepping on another players foot. It couldn’t possibly be the $14.95 shoes he’s wearing. Word is while Stephon is wearing the shoes he’s been promoting all summer, he apparently has some rather expensive custom inserts that he’s putting into them to provide the proper support. While the notion of a discount shoe that is stylish and affordable is important, its seems almost deceptive to say Stephon is wearing the shoe that is being sold, because in essence he isn’t. If the shoe is not providing enough support for Stephon in game situations, this could be a recurring problem both for Steph on the court, and for the folks that have bought the shoes. There is a reason those NIKEs cost so much, yes part of it is massive profit taking, but the other part is research, design and materials that make the shoes so effective. Just because Stephon’s shoe may look like a basketball shoe, it may also wreck your ankles and feet – and given that Stephon is already missing games with a foot problem – you might want to hold off on your purchase.

This past week he's on record saying his shoes aren't responsible for his current foot problems. What a Scam artist.

its not that hard to just look at the sole of the shoe and realize that there is no padding whatsoever

Between that and the blisters you got when we were playing.

I tried to told you that I bought a pair of the shoes, and it feels like I was wearing a pair of flip floppers. I gave them to my little cousin. He called me less than a week later saying I was "trying to end his basketball career."

Just say no.

If the shoes are faulty he really is putting the shoes/his commisions above Dolans (18 mill a year, Isiah, and the team.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I don't understand. So when I was younger and using those old sneakers to play bball, I should have foot problems as well? How about old timers like Dr J and the like? Me no like Blubbury but I don't think the shoes are his problem.

Players had shorter careers than now.

Really, its just evolution with better equipment comes better preparation.

The guys are stronger and can jump higher. Better conditioning using better equipment.

Dr. had chronic knee problems. Would better technology in the shoes and training helped. MAYBE? Maybe not.

Guys we lucky to last 10 years. Clyde by 32 was really starting to decline with knee problems. Maybe better shoes would have helped. Certainly better trianing and equipment.

If Marbury's body is used to performing with a certain level of footware and its down graded it might effect his game and body. Maybe, Maybe not.

I used to play in Canvas Converse and Pro Keds. Even the other Sneakers I used to play in after that, like my Pumas. Pony and Adidas weren't that well made. The guy had time to test the shoes and approve the fit and feel. I'm sure he could easily have asked for changes if he felt they hurt his feet.
